In my FPS I'm developing, I use WASD movement and set the unit to always face the cameras yaw.
The ONLY issue is. I can not find a way to get the camera to pan while allowing the mouse to rotate the unit.
"Make Camera Look At...." does not work
"Make Camera Follow Unit Group" does not pan correctly for this situation
So again, the issue I'm facing: <Make the camera pan correctly while still allowing mouse rotation>
PLEASE anyone help? (the SC2mapster chap who made Starship Troopers Whiskey Outpost was able to do it so i know its possible :P)
I don't mean to be stubborn but WallArcher made it happen in hit SST Whiskey Outpost map!!
It blows my mind how he can pan while allowing mouse rotation. I looked at his trigger and ours are very similar, with the exception of him
calling an actor message.
Download it and try it.
The camera is only the basics of what I need, yet its becoming time to take a break (due to near insanity :P).
WallArchers SST Whiskey Outpost uses panning and still allows mouse movement so it can be done, somehow.
Does it pan to an actor message or something?
ive tried a private message and he hasnt responded :P
His trigger pans every .04 seconds and still allows a movable camera.
I've been on this for weeks and ive looked at a number of maps and im still stumped!
Is this trick a secret of the pros? secret of the better-than-amateur?
it works but its not fast enough. follow unit group has more a of a cinematic touch to it. i appreciate it tho. i think this thread just needs to closed. Only way out is gettin a hold of wallarcher to see how he did it. or ill browse the tutorial forums more.

Please? No Help at all?

tried this too some time ago, seems not to work because the panning seems to make the camera too busy to rotate :D
only solution is to use "follow unit group" instead of paning.

this here works fine (rawr data)
CameraFollowUnitGroup(Player,(ConvertUnitToUnitGroup(Unit)),true,false)
it smooth a bit but i think it's the only good way without paning every 0.0625 sec
