Here are some shots of the (almost) complete 3rd base. Any help on fixing the skybox transition is much appreciated- I think I'm going to try fooling around with fog density now.
Wow your terrain mapping is AWESOME. In the latest upload first picture how did you make your ramp not seem so steep? Whenever i make a ramp from a first level cliff to ground it looks way to steep :)

I think if you make ramps from north -> south it's always steep, sideways and diagonal is like on the screen.

Yes, As much as I would like to take credit for that :P, I think those are just the characteristics of that ramp. I know that I DID do some of height adjustment there, but I don't think the difference is that pronounced.
Which ramp was it? You're probably right, I did height work on a lot of the ramps because they were too steep, and the models for some units were actually entering the cliff. If you point out which screen I can help you out a bit better, but it was probably just Edit Height and Smooth Height.
I think some of your ramps may be too small in terms of a normal Melee, for custom maps it shouldn't matter. You should focus a bit on the Cliffs, there are some nice doodads to make them look more realistic/alive/interesting.

I was trying to work with these, but I had significant difficulty in making them actually work. All of the ones which would have been appropriate seemed determined to either embed themselves inside the cliff, or jump to the bottom or top of the cliff when I attempted to manoeuvre them. If you have any tips on making these work they would be greatly appreciated.

SERIOUS how does your ramp not look steep it cant just be angle. would it be to do with height of cliff or type of terrain :(
