I want my guardian shield effect to last for 60 seconds. It seems that it won't exceed 30 seconds.
If I set the periodic count on Guardian Shield (Create Persistant) to ex. 2, It lasts 1 second.
If I set the periodic count to 60 the effect lasts 30 seconds
But if I set it to 120 it still only lasts for 30 seconds..
120 should work, im not sure why its not for you
the trick here is, your setting it to 60 periodic counts, BUT the field "Effect - Period Durations (0.5000)" is set to half a second, so you want Peridoic counts to = 120.

edit: it seems your right 120 is not working, it only lasts 35 seconds...testing more.
edit2: solved it, it IS lasting a full min, however its just the animation that is not.
this is because the dome animation is only 33.33367 seconds long.
normally we dont notice durations because units animation brackets are looped till death, this is not the case of this actor.
there are a few ways we could fix this, one would be to remove the animation bracket, and tell it to play each animation right afteranother once the previous one finishes.
The easier solution, is this. in the events+ of the shield actor, in the animation bracket, for the closing animation, make that stand as well. The downside to this, the shield will now just go away when done, and wont "close". but is the faster of the solutions.
also now when the effect is over event, youll want it to destroy the actor, instead of just stoping the animation bracket.
how do i modify guardian shield aura to have auto cast and to be enabled immediately after attack ? and is there a way i can create an attack aura buff with this ability or another?
Wow over a year later. Just alter the Effect - Instant ability to allow autocasting. For the application directly after attack you need a hidden buff with a damage response that uses an Issue Order effect or applies the Create Persistent effect of the ability directly.
For the use as an attack aura buff, just exchange the buff applied to the target units with one that does your damage modification.
