I noticed in a few custom maps, it takes 10 seconds (like in Phase 1) instead of the really long 30 seconds. Auto-start was also disabled when the lobby is full.
The countdown is quick if you're playing a single player custom, but if there's additional human players (like 4+) then it takes a while. This was not the case for a few custom maps I played.
Crush Company is the custom map that does this even when there's 4 human players in the lobby. I was wondering if it had something to do with coop only but overrun!!! didn't have the same effect.
my map has the same problem. the 30 seconds only occur when the map starts by itself when it's full. when it's get startet manually it's only 8 (10?) seconds
Pretty sure Fropper already nailed it. If a game auto starts when full, the thought is that the last person to join had no time to check things out, no say in whether or not to start, therefor, long delay. If it's started manually, it is assumed that the host at least had a chance to make sure everyone wanted to start. Summary: Auto start= 30 seconds manual start=10.
well I think we all knew that
but in my custom map there is nothing to change besides maybe the color, and that can be done in 10 seconds~ no need to let everyone wait the 30 seconds for no reason

Have you tried changing the "Lobby Delay" in Game Varients under Map? Maybe that will help. (If it doesn't work, excuse me. I'm a noob)
Yea I did. Didn't work :/

bump
This is probably a B.Net check when starting, i don't think there is a way to change it.
i saw a few maps where this is changed

Didn't take me long to figure that out myself...@GuybrushUThreepwood: Go

but how did some maps disable the autostart when the lobby is full? The countdown is based on # of players if started manually.
If a computer player is present the lobby doesn't detect the full # of players.
So try adding a nuetral comp as a place holder so auto start will never happen.
