So I have a function in my map which makes my zealot play his attack animation. Looks like this:
Actor - Send message (AnimBracketStart "Attack" Stand Stand Attack 0 -1.0 As Automatic) to actor (Actor for Zealot [120.00, 24.00])
The problem is that zealots have three possible attack animations but theres only 1 I want to be used. I've been succesful with things like this before by having it set to attack and then using the second drop down menu to specify which animation to use, Attack A for example. I haven't been able to figure out how to specify the animation I want, I always just get a "invalid actor message" or some such error. tried using letters, numbers, variations and a couple other things that I thought might relate to an attack but none of them worked :(.
I've noticed some animations on other units can specifically be called but the attack animations on the zealot can't. It was like this in wc3 too. Calling attack just calls ANY of his attack animations. Quite frustrating does anyone have any ideas?
I would also love to see a solution to this. Most animations can be selected specifically, but it seems there are a few exceptions. Personally, I'm trying to use the Marine's Stand Victory 1 animation for the start of an ability, since he shoots into the air, but half the time I get his normal Stand Victory animation (him placing his gun above his head and jumping up and down), which is a little awkward in combat.
[Edit]: Thanks to the trusty Search funciton I found an answer. When asked to put in your animation name do this:
Attack
VARIATION 01 (or whichever variation you want)
Don't just put the numbers, actually look for Variation and then the number.
