Here I have 3 different dialog types, each look a little different and shall become what my backpack dialog will be in the end, but for now I'm just wondering what kind of dialog you guys think looks nicer and then I'll make my Backpack dialog around that.
I'm pretty sure people wont like the third one, I think It'll get too cluttered when I get to work on it.
Does anyone think the 2nd one looks smaller than the first? because I can assure you the they are the same size
The icons will change when I start adding Items in and the text will also be populated depending on what item it is. thanks for your input, I'll probably make the image to the text into a button as well so you don't have to click on the little boxes.
I actually like the boxes around the items - seems to suggest you can click / drag them around (hoping that's the case). If so #2 gets my vote, otherwise it's misleading so #1.
The border around the icons in the first backpack look very nice.
That's something the second one lacks - there seem to be bad transitions in the second one.
If you can add the first one's border to the second one's icons then I'm all for #2.
If you can't / don't then I'd still say #2, but only with slight favor.
Second again :P My least favourite is the third, it closes off the icons from the text... The first and second are very similar, however I like the change in sizes between the textbox and the image, makkes it that much more dynamic to look at. It also gives the idea that the image presents the item initially and then the text(name?) is to give you an actual description/name of the item. It's important for this kind of system though, to have Icons that fit the given item :)
Yeh, but to do that I'd have to edit the dds files which I don't feel like doing at the moment, but i could just modify the icon borders so it looks the same so you can see the difference.
Cheaply done but in the end it'd end up something like this:
you can call it 5-4 if you like. I really need some sleep, seems I can't count numbers straight anymore.
I think I'm up to the point where I can make basic-nice looking dialogs in a matter of minutes.
The code to link everything up still takes ages though D:

I prefer the first one, because of the icons mostly. The 2nd one also has the icons, but I don't like the box around each item.

I'd say the second one as it seperates the items better, and also very easy on the eye.
I guess you could call these 4, 5 and 6!
You should try to utilize the horizontal space on the screen more I think.
I'll make a fat one just for you, gimme a moment.
All done, Number 7!
Well waddya know, It only took me a bit more than 2 minutes to reconfigure the size and layout

Is that a request to make the whole thing light up when I mouse over it?
@zKyuuketsuki: Go
No, only the highlighted object. The one you're currently mouse'd over.
Like so?
5-2 Brightness when clicked, 5-3 Brightness when hovered
I never planned on keeping these colors, I was always going to change the Buttons to a blue closer to the kind that the dialog borders use.
@zKyuuketsuki: Go
No. Just the icon and the name/underline without hover, and the background and border on hover. 1 w/ 5 at hover

Lucky bastard, I honestly can't make anything besides the common "box with text" :/
If you want the code for one of them you can just ask.
