There is. I doing this from memory though so give me a bit of slack:
Create a local variable string (named Temp in this example)
Action: Temp = Catalog Get Field Value (Units, String(Unit Type of Unit(Item)), "Item") (Units is listed in the preset list, String = Convert GameLink To String)
Action: Temp = Catalog Get Field Value (Items, Temp, "Class") (Temp is the item name retrieved using the above Catalog Get Field Value)
and now Temp should contain the String value of the itemclass. (you might want to use another catalog get field value to retrieve it's actual name:
Action: Temp = Catalog Get Field Value (Item Class, Temp, "Name") (Temp is the item name retrieved using the above Catalog Get Field Value)
Hope this will help ya, I might be wrong with some naming but the general idea should work.
Is there anyway to detect the Item Class of an item using triggers? If it's via catalogs, can you show me how? Thx
