Does anyone know how to do this? I'd like for a ground robot thing to be able to morph into a flying robot thing without having to stop and wait for it to finish. The robot thing from melee. I forgot what it's called.
it's kind of a cheat way but, you could instantly transform into an egg unit, this egg unit will have an expiration timer, when that timer expires you'll get your unit, similarly to injecting larvae into your hatchery. (so what happens is, you make an actual egg unit to transform into, then u give it an expiration timer, kill it when it expires, or instantly morph it to another unit, idc how u do it)
If the morph is instant, does it still interrupt movement? If so there's a workaround. Create a dummy ability of type "Effect - Instant" and make it trigger an Issue Order effect which triggers the actual morph ability. Make sure "Preempt" is checked under command flags for the issue order effect.
This works basically any time you want to interrupt whatever a unit is currently doing and have them resume their existing order when they're done with it.

@jarltheafro:
So there's no field that controls how long a unit is unable to move while morphing?

@RileyStarcraft:
It doesn't, but if it's instant, it also makes the animation instant.
