I'm sorry if this has been covered already but I was trying to build a leaderboard to keep track of how many of a certian unit that player 2 (computer) has. Like, if they have 5 zerglings, the leader board will say: Number of Zerglings - #ammount alive#
Any help would be great.. This new editor's been kicking my butt.
Just tested it and it still errored out. Atleast this time is showed "Zergling" in Column 1. Still isn't showing anything in row................ *fixes slight bug* now I got a Row 2 LOL but still errors out. row 2 just said "Local Player"
Basically the same as the image above (cept the correct rows has been added). i'm thinking it's the "triggering unit" script. i also tried to change it to the unit (zergling) but still says "localplayer". I'm an old Sc1 map maker so I'm weirry about sharing my maps with people... unless I've finished em myself.
First off I would just call the Leaderboard in my initialization routine trigger. Something like Game- Map Initialization. No need to make a timer to start it.
Also don't reference a specific unit with that. When that unit dies it may cause problems.
Again, remove the "(Name of player" function by left clicking the "(" before the "N" This is not the function you want to be using.
Ok I'll address those ideas. What should I change them too though =\ It's not like sc1 when I could just point at a unit and say "Go!" geeze this thing's driving me nuts.
Uhg annoying >.< Just want anything to say "Player 2 has # of Zerglings!" I'm about to just give up on this damned map maker. it's way too difficult to use for me.. Uhg sorry guys. didn't mean to vent on you. I really do appreciate the help you've givin.
how the.. lol What ever XD Thank you SO much!! Exactly what I was looking for. I think this will be my only map I'll build. So much for my dreams of a 3rd person playable Pso map and others. This map maker has me done XD
Thank you again hun.

Variable = Unit Count of Player
Unit Count of Player is a function
I have that.. This is what it looks like
When I load the game it just errors and leaves a funy looking leader board.
why bother adding the player to the leaderboard if your manually adjusting the values
also you would need another trigger to update that
for example event - periodic event (every 1 second)
actions-set text at column 1 row 1 blah blah blah
set text at column 1 row 2 blah blah blah
yes basically, with the way it is now it won't update, so you need a trigger that updates it
so same thing but also delete the create leaderboard trigger

yea never thought it would fix that problem but it did fix another one, not sure about the big problem sorry
edit: another problem you have is you created a leader board with only 1 row but your trying to add text for something in row 2
Fixed that problem already. It's still saying localplayer. Player 2 is set to Hostile. Would that cause an issue?
maybe you could send me map so i could take a look at the trigger

By the way there is a "header" row you should be using. Second, I'll post a pic of my leaderboard.
Edit: and yes, you have no unit triggering this type of event. You can't use that code there.
Edit2: Don't use that Name of Player function. Click the ( to the left of it and change it to something more appropriate.
...oh o.o
here's what I got with all the updates:
I keep getting this one error... uhm..
"Trigger error in
'gt_leaderboardupdater_func':could
not get 'text' from parameter in
'BoardItemSetText' (value: 65535)"

I think there are some Leaderboard tuts you can search for and check out. Otherwise you can poke at the official WoL game maps for ideas.

I can't remember any LoW maps that had a unit count displayed... Uhg I'm useless.
i believe you rproblem is that you didnt set a variable for your leaderboard and i think last created leaderboard only works for trigger
i attached map with triggers that should work, just copy an dpaste to your map
