Ok so I wanted to make a scenic tour type map but I've already run into a problem.
I've made a 256x256 map and added the campaign dependencies to use the assets. First, I placed a crashing debris doodad ignoring placement requirements outside of the map boundary. And second I placed a vulture for player 1 so I could look at my work in the actual game.
However, once I saved, and re-opened my map, it said that the crashing debris doodad was invalid and leaves a little white ball where it was previously showing the crashing animation for the debris. My vulture is still 'there' but it doesn't show up. And last but not least, I'm missing campaign assets now because when I search for the crashing doodad it no longer turns up any results.
Does anyone know what is happening?
Edit: I deleted a couple of dependencies and the units showed up again. What is going on here?

Think there's a bug with pulling dependency info.
Anytime I have more then 2 dependencies listed I get the issue with the white balls.
I only use Liberty (Campaign) & Liberty Story (Campaign) on my maps and that seems to include all units.

same problem. no help yet. Will tell you if I do find some though.
@Pandonetho: Go
tentative fix:
I had 4 dependencies loaded:
Liberty (mod) Liberty multi (mod) Liberty (campaign) Liberty Story (campaign)
Then i deleted Liberty multi, and all the doodads and colonists came back.
