The triggered effect is a workaround by me since I've already looked into the data editor and just cannot figure out whatsoever, how to add a visual shield effect to non-protoss units.
Maybe try changing the event from when the unit takes damage to when a unit does damage to another unit. This way its triggered from the attacks perspective rather than the shielded units pov. For instance, if i'm attacking a unit with a shield, show shield. If i'm attacking a unit with no shield, show no shield.

However if you have multiple attackers it could cause a lot of needless triggers
did you try doing "attach model to unit"? and then selecting the shield model and if the shield doesnt go away just put a wait and then do "kill last created actor"
Have you tried actors associated with current units that have this effect? this sounds like a data editor thing, not triggers

Umm me thinks you need to take a closer look into how normal protoss units get the shield effect to show with out using triggers.
Try taking a zealot and deleting stuff from it till you get the same effect your seeing on your custom unit..
It maybe that the actor for the protoss unit has an event that goes like..... unit takes shield dmg display shied animation....
Its in there somewhere i bet but something like this should not be triggered
You need to change the event your other stuff is fine.
Make the event be ( any unit is attacked )
and you can set which units ect.
try looking at immortal his shield are sometimes visual
