I started yesterday with creating maps for WC3, but I found out that the new patch includes a SC2 editor so I moved to SC2 :).
The setup of my map is that you have this archon which you must create a path for so he can move over the lava (other side of the map).
The problem is that I cannot create something which he can move on! I tried modifying creep but it does not show up on top of the lava and its not shapeable.
The idea is that I have 4 kinds of buildings which the user can build with the Builder. When the Archon is on top of them, he will get the Invulerability buff so he doesnt die. I was thinking of something that removes the ramp and extends the path.
Can someone please suggest me how to make these buildings?
PS. Please excuse if this is a very simple problem, like I noted, I'm new :).
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but maybe I can try.
Lava is just textured water and does not interfere with pathing, so you should be able to create creep (it's just that the creep is "underneath" the lava and thus doesn't show). So you can use Creep for the Archon's pathing.
If you want the Archon to die if he leaves the creep, set his life regeneration to a negative number, then give him a behavior that has positive life regeneration to counteract this. This behavior should have the "on creep" validator. Basically, the archon will lose health rapidly unless he's standing on creep. Then you can use creep for the Archons pathing.
If you want to do it without creep, give the buildings you are talking about a behavior with a periodic "Search" effect. The Search effect should apply a behavior to targets in range. The behavior which is applied is a short-duration invulnerability buff (but the duration should be longer than the period of the Search effect). Basically, this will cause the buildings to buff nearby targets with an invulnerability buff, but since the buff does not last long, the unit will lose it if he walks away from the buildings.
