I was used to JASS not GUI in wc3, back then I never really dealt with alot of periodic triggers, i just created timers and attach objects to the timer. It doesn't seem to lag at all in my computer after I revised it, just the jerkiness, and I will try your while loop trick.
the while loop did not help for me it also increased the memory usage.
My problem is now that the memory usage is increased every time a trigger is used on the map and my map consists of triggers meaning that after a few minutes for all players with normal pc it is the end...
Its not the triggers guys, it is the engine, try a map without any triggers and let units fight, it was a small fight between 20on20 units and the memory usage increased more than on my map even with all triggers
new created melee map smallest map size without terrain increased from 435 to 490 mb in this fight in 1 minute
my trigger map with terrain biggest map size using triggers increases memory usage from 670 to 735mb in 5-10 minutes of testing
No one but you is having these drastic memory issues, BeLugh. If this were the case, Blizzard would've picked up on that drastic of a leak in their extensive testing of melee games. I suggest looking into what is wrong with your installation or possibly even Operating System or hardware.
maybe its not a memory problem, it could also be that some stuff is not preloaded and it loaded into triggers, i am playing on max graphics so maybe it saves more in memory than usually
Its no problem for me as long as i have my 8gb, but maybe for others playing my map later.
If you're playing on the highest settings in the game you should be aware that things like textures, models, etc. will use significantly more RAM and VRAM. I'm 99% sure though based on your description that this is probably not a Blizzard issue. Maybe your RAM is faulty? Try running a test like Memtest and see what it says.
Or you could just try running on Medium and see how it affects memory usage. You're going to have to run through and eliminate potential causes one by one before you can make an accurate bug report that will stand up to scrutiny and get fixed.
As long as it is just me i dont care, i was just shocked that triggers use so much memory but if its the settings or windows 7 i dont know, i was just afraid that users could get problems playing my map.
When i will have enough time i will check the memtest but it takes a long time for 8gb, it took already 5 minutes for 2%

i have no clue why but nearly every trigger increaes memory usage from 0.004 up to 0.4 mb depending on what they do and this is really really bad
