i read several tutorials now, but im not able to fix my problem with that, so i decided once again to ask for help.
im creating an HGMA Defense currently - some of you might know it from the old starcraft.
the map has 7 players, 4 in all corners of the map, 2 in the left and right middle and one as last defender in the middle.
i want now, that you can choose your defending place out of the lobby.
in the original game, it was like 4 places force1, 2 places force2 and 1 place force 3 - if you are in that spot, you are that defender, it was fixed.
now this is weird stuff in sc2 with all these variants and things.
anyone able to tell me what to set up exactly to achieve what im looking for?
Player properties does not have what you're looking for? I believe each player in player properties corresponds to the lobby slot, irregardless of the arrangement you have set up.
currently there are starting units placed on the starting positions, but no matter what i change, the game createor stays player1 and so on.
i have seperated the lobby into 3 teams, one with 4 one with 2 and the last with 1 player, and no matter on what spot i switch i stay the red player.
tried in the variants, and the player properties dont work neither.
also tried with colors, but it just gives me the player 1 units, they are in that choosen color for a second but then change back to red.
well i or better said we (my mate on the map project) figured out how to use these attributes and drop down menu stuff in the lobby.
everything works fine now, not exactly like we wanted (because you cant lock the teams on teamsize without preventing players from changeing lobby position) but it works.
thanks anyways!

You have to sort out the players in game. Thier player # has nothing to do with where they are in the lobby before the game starts.
The only thing from the lobby that carries over to the game are the alliance properties.
What you can do it just count the players in game at the start, and determine where you want them placed.
