Is there anyone who does regular mod testing that knows how to use the Default Map option inside your GE preferences? At the moment, every time I want to test a change to my mod file, I have to close my test map, close down starcraft, save the mod, re-open the test map, and test the document. It's especially annoying when you're trying to debug some trigger issue one line at a time. It would be ideal if I could simply test the mod directly without having to load up a secondary map. Any tips?
Yes I do this all of the time, it's pretty simple.
1. Create a map with the required dependencies, including your mod
2. Save the map as whatever name you want, place it in your Starcraft 2/Maps folder
3. Enter the name of the map in your preferences.
4. Close the map.
Now whenever you are working on your mod, if you press "Test Map", it will actually load the default map, and since the mod was a dependency it will use your mod.
I think you have to have the mod as a dependency, I don't think it adds it automatically just for testing, but I might be wrong.
Ok, slap me around and call me Shirley... I don't seem to be having the good fortune that you have. Can you please state how the map name is entered in the field?
map is D:\StarCraft II\Maps\NewUI.SC2Map, dependency is set.
In the [Default Map:] field, I have tried:
NewUI
NewUI.SC2Map
[path]\NewUI
[path]\NewUI.SC2Map
Maps\NewUI
Maps\NewUI.SC2Map
Maps/NewUI
Maps/NewUI.SC2Map
Still the game launches and states "Unable to launch game."
