Ok, I know where to set the large and small preview images for Battlenet, (under map options) and I know how to import TGAs. The problem is that every single image I import results in the preview saying img: with 5 colored bands at the top.
I have tried 8,16,and 32 bit TGA files with compression turned on and off. I have also tried a DDS file.
What am I doing wrong? What size do they need to be?
That actually sounds like a problem with your exporter. What are you using to generate your .tga's? Alternately you could post a .tga that's giving you trouble and see if anyone else can import it.
Make sure you don't have RLE Compression on.
And if your image program is doing it on its own try downloading The Compressionator: http://developer.amd.com/gpu/compressonator/Pages/default.aspx
It handles pretty much all game image formats including TGA, PNG, DDS and so forth.
