I got used to hating the GUI from the days of WC3. However, it seems that Blizzard has really improved it this time around. I can't say that there is a definitive answer to this question anymore.
Really, gotta disagree with you here. For many tasks, the GUI is slower than Galaxy - take adding three variables together, or combining a string with multiple substrings, or setting the value of a unit type variable.
This is only slower if you need to click everything and scroll down the list because you don't remember the name of your own functions/variables.
Any of this can be done in 4 seconds by using shortcuts and typing two characters in the search box :)
Thanks for all of your reasons as to why and why not to learn the galaxy scripting language. I have read through all of them and have decided that I am going to learn the galaxy scripting language because I believe it will be a useful skill to have when I am having difficultly with the GUI and for various other reasons.
Thanks again.
