Do any of you guys know any way possible to bypass keypressed lag for online gaming? Like maybe making some of the stuff client side somehow so the server aint tracking, its only updating positions?
EDIT
Nvm fixed this issue, but now I have a new problem. Without setting cam view to Region is there any way to get the cam close to the unit im trying to follow? Ive done numerous things to just set the camera behind his back - from adjusting various custom camera settings to trying to position the cam to points with trigers, but no matter what I do it wont get any closer than like 4 marines between me and the unit.
Just make a custom camera and zoom in very close, then use a trigger to Pan Camera to your custom camera. At some point you'll be so close that you can only see the feet of your unit. Then edit the camera properties (double click on it, I think) and increase the Camera Z Offset by 1 or 1.5. That moves the camera up a bit.

would enjoy seeing how you Fixed the problem. would really enjoy it.
Alright back to work. I was using a mouse right click to move camera, but instead im just using relative mode which so far from my testing online with 3 other friends generates way less lag(no lag noticeable with all 4 of us using it online with 4 seperate units tied to players).
Though right now I have issue order move forward tied to W, albeit its on a slower event timer with a longer hold event for the act of goto position. This also does not seem to generate any lag atm with 3 other players testing(with me messing around coming up with settings, but with multie key presses going off im sure something is bound to come up, and for the fact I had lag but eliminated it with rewriting and experimenting with conditions)
There has to be a way to tie key presses to send one action but continue that action without sending the key, ofcourse we want the timer on that key to be fast so as soon as we push such key it fires. I wonder if there may be someway to make key presses localized, though from what I read there is no way and if this is the case, hopefully Blizzard will implant that option to completly get rid of any lag that could stem from key presses. Why it does now? I dont know, its kind of crazy cause it would seem like just playing normal games online would cause the issue with mouse/point/click when issuing orders to units, specially over 100 units at once.@mothmann: Go
Dunno, I cant get this to work. Like I said above the camera for some reason no matter how close I actually move the camera to my unit, when I test it the camera gets auto moved back by like 4 marines distance. Also another thing is whenever I look up or down the camera gets pushed around too.
Going into camera preview from the terrain editor I have it set perfectly where I want it to be, but lol... it just doesent show up that way when testing the map... man this is fustrating...@s3rius: Go
Holy crap you are right, hiding the ui fixed it. With the UI hidden it now shows up where it should show up in game... this is very strange someone needs to let blizzard know about this.
Do you/anyone know of a work around to still use the UI or custom UI?
EDIT*
After going in for testing and removing each individual panel, the one panel we cant remove (Battle UI) seems to so far to be the culprit of this behavior.
EDIT**
LOL found a work around, Go ahead and hide game ui, then make Show UI Whatever after works and camera will work as u have it set. Def has to be a bug with (Battle ui)@Mille25: Go

try to hide the entire game ui, since it affects the camera (dont ask me why but it will behave strange if the normal ui is shown)
