Margins in the right window of Data Editor. (Field | Default Settings, etc)
I was not able to find this via search, but when you make the margins smaller (ex. You shrink Field), they are saved when switching units. When you make the margins larger than a certain size, though, they reset to that certain size every time you change units.
This can be annoying if you are scanning between two units quickly and are looking at a field that is extensive.
Just a side note, you can hold ctrl and select both units to see them side by side. I discovered this nice feature entirely by accident. Of course it doesn't solve the problem you describe, but it can help as a workaround for certain situations.

PS: Yes I am using MSPaint.

Well it may not solve the problem, but damn that is a sweet feature I was completely unaware of haha. Thanks!
