I am trying to finish off my Uber Tank, but here's a VERY WEIRD bug with my weapon.
First things first: minimum range 20, max range 500, 20 period. blah blah.
now the weird part.
If I have the weapon on the Tank, in Tank mode, it can use the weapon, no problem. Weather it uses the Siege Tank turret or not, it can fire.
If I have the weapon on the Tank, in Siege mode, it will not use the weapon. Either target is too close or target is out of range. Weather or not its on the Siege Tank (Sieged) turret or not.
Uh... can anyone help?

Sounds kinda novice, but I've done it myself, does the morphed sieged tank have the correct weapon and turret in combat section? Otherwise I'm at a loss on this one. I cant reproduce the bug you're experiencing, it worx fine when I try it, but I cant see all of the factors in yours.
caveat: Likely the v1.2 gremlin hard at work again jacking up our data editor...
Uses Turret Siege (Sieged) while in Siege mode. Uses Turret Siege Tank in Tank Mode. It works fine in Tank mode.
Usually I make my own weapons from scratch, but I've even duplicated weapons and modified fields and still, won't work in Siege mode. Oh, the other weapons in siege mode work, though. :\
The range field has always been there for weapons, so...
Also you tried removing the range limits to see if the problem lies with those?
Try using a dupe of a normal weapon and getting it to use your weapon effects and see if those work. Then try changing each field to what your other weapon is one at a time and test the map each time.
I copied the Marine Gauss Rifle weapon and started changing stuff. Right off the bat I can tell it's the Weapon that's not working, because adding the Search to the Marine weapon works fine... now I am in the process and changing EVERY little thing, one at a time.
EDIT: Solved....
So I duplicated the Marine weapon and started changing the fields to what I wanted them, starting from the very top. Everything worked fine, and then I got to the last 3 options... and noticed... I had put the Missile in the Weapon - Pathing Ammo Unit field... apparently adding your "Projectile" in this field just makes the weapon bug out. Don't know why, though. Tooltip for this field clearly states "Unit used as the missile when this weapon is fired. Not all weapons have missiles."
So I removed the missile from this field in the weapon I created, removed the duplicated marine weapon from the tank and now it fires the weapon I originally made and couldn't get working, to fire while in Siege mode...
This also begs the question "Why does adding a missile/ammo to this field, make it useable in Tank mode, but make it unable to fire while in Siege mode?"
Also been checking the other weapons that other units use, like Stalker, Battlecruiser, Hydralisk... no weapons that I can find use the Pathing Ammo Unit field...

Thanks, DrSuperEvil. This is the third or fourth time I've duplicated a weapon and only now just noticed it(Pathing Ammo Unit field). Your suggestion to try it again helped out! I was getting extremely frustrated!
Hate to necro this thread but i went through 2 hours of hell until I read the last post here. I couldn't get a missile weapon to work at all on structures (with or without turrets) because I had the pathing ammo unit field set to the missile weapon unit. HOWEVER, it worked when I gave the weapon to a hero/unit. Only when i gave the weapon to a building, it stopped working.
So then I set the pathing ammo unit field in the weapon to (None) and BAM now it works on my structure/turret building. Ugh lol.
It's not specifically a building... but more of a unit with a Footprint... doesn't a Siege Tank in siege mode have a footprint... hence why I could not use the weapon while in Siege Mode?? And why you couldn't use your weapon on a building??

Have you identified if it is the weapon or something else? Try using a modified gauss rifle with long range to find out the cause.
With the latest patch I read something about a range field being added, maybe that has messed something up.
Any Validators being used?

If the arc is under 360, try changing that to 360. Most likely wont solve the problem, but worth a shot.
Search -> Launch -> Search on Impact -> Launch
