I found some non-melee structures such as science facility, sunken colony face randomly when placed. When selected in editor, there in "Rotation" under objective properties, while buildings like barracks doesn't have. So what controls this property? First I thought it's "turable", but I found sunken colony doesn't have turable flag.
Another unrelated question: by default a science facility will produce weird sound. How to turn it off?
There is a flag that should control the facing of the model when it is placed. It is possibly in the Model data, because in the sunken colony case, the actual unit facing has no impact (since it can't turn and its weapon doesn't require turning to fire)
Look at it closely. It's not turning. It has a turret. Like I said, the turnable flag controls random building facing. What you're seeing here is the initial facing of the building's turret. If you want to remove this behavior then remove the turret.

Could be a variable rotation SOp? Seems they have renamed it to SOp (Rotation Random) in LOTV.
