I haven't been in the editor for a long time and the data editor has changed dramatically since then. There are two things I knew how to change before, but I'm having trouble with now.
I have given a zerg ability with AOE to a protoss unit. When I go to cast the ability, there is a circular zerg AOE model that represents the area it will affect. I would like to change this to...say...the high templar psi storm hexagon shaped AOE model. If you need clarification, it's the placement model before you cast the ability.
I also have been working to figure out an even easier issue that I just can't figure out. I've given the mothership wormhole transit ability to a protoss unit. Right now, it's set to target the ground. I want to force it so you can't target the ground, you can only target a unit.
Does anyone know how to do either of these? I'm sure somebody does, these are day to day things.
I don't think you posted at the wrong time, you just have to be patient. :P
As far as I know, the method for setting up a Cursor Splat hasn't changed. Basically go to that AoE ability that you want to modify and find the "Cursor Splat" Actor that links to it. Change that Actor's "Art: Model" to "Psi Storm Cursor Splat".
For the Wormhole Transit ability, find the "Wormhole Transit Teleport Move" Effect and change the "Target: Target +" to "Target Unit".
Thanks, they both worked. I'll have to fiddle with filters to get the wormhole transit the way I want it, but I think I'm on track now.
I was a bit frustrated before, working for several hours, but now I know my mistake. I was looking at my unit's actor links and not the ability's actor links which contained the splat. I also didn't check the effect because I somehow didn't think you could make an effect have a filter.
Thanks again.

Thanks in advance, I love sc2mapster.
On second thought, maybe I don't love, but just barely like sc2mapster...
Perhaps I just posted at the wrong time...
Does anybody know either answers?
