Is there a way i can make a cpu controlled unit cast an ability when it is attacked using data editor? (protoss sentry shield).
It's a TD map, so no IA is active.
I know how to do this with triggers, i was wondering if there is a way to do it with data editor.
If you put an auto cast validator, AC range, and go into flags and tuen on AC + AC on, they will cast when attacked. The trick is to find a good validator, but I think one exists. If not, create one. Sorry, I don't have the editor in front of me.
Select the two flags in Stats, Auto Cast, Auto Cast On. Then, Set Auto Cast Acquire Level to Defensive, Auto Cast Range to at least 8, and add the Auto Cast Validator "Caster In Combat" Make sure that it has enough mana to cast with.
You could use the buff behaviour with Combat - Damage Response - Chance (set to chance of you wanting it to cast) and Combat - Damage Response - Handled (the effect used when hit) attached to a Issue Order effect (uses ability) connected to your ability.
That is if you can not link the behaviours and effects from the ability directly into the response.

The Validator "CasterInCombat" or similar should work just fine, I guess.
