I've been seeing a periodic error in my map lately. It's weird because it doesn't seem to happen consistently, and I can't tell if it's being caused by any specific chain of events. Essentially, it pops up when (but not every time) a Spectre is killed.
The error reads: "Warning ... CActorUnit[SpecterUnit2] Cannot clear a prop that is already being cleared." I haven't been able to find anyone discussing this error anywhere else.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this?
You be more specific. The error message says what actor it is so without a pic of the events, I cannot give you more info.
I'm being as specific as I can be. The unit is a Spectre. I've played several games with AI just to sit and watch for what's happening when the error pops. The only common thread to the event, as far as I can tell, is that the unit is dying. It's not occurring due to any specific effect or damage-type. It's also not happening consistently. If you want to see the error for yourself, load up a game of Rooftop Snipers with full up AI players and wait for the error to show up.
I've also noticed that the error will occur in game, then when I watch the replay, there's no error.
Basically, if anyone can tell me exactly what "Cannot clear a prop that is already being cleared" means, that would help a lot.
Well, I don't think we are going to join a game and "wait for the error to show up"...
Your best bet would be to copy as text and paste all the relevant events of your spectre actors here. Or, attach a map sample that will immediately cause the error in the first couple second from one specific unit.

That was just a suggestion for if you really need to see something. As I said before, the error doesn't occur with any sort of consistency. This means I can't simply make it occur at will through a map sample.
I'm not sure how to do a text copy/paste for actor events, so here's an image.
Well, we might not be able to help you without more information or direct access to the map then. Try to collect more information, make a backup of your map, delete and recreate stuff, try to find the source of the problem.
Also try to reproduce the error, if it happens when a spectre dies, kill a lot of them and try to determine, when it causes an error etc.
I appear to have solved the problem. The "clear opacity" action in my actor events was the culprit. I replaced it with "Set opacity: 1" and the error seems to have gone away. I still have no idea why the issue was as sporadic as it was.

Clearly your duped spectre Unit type actor.

Could you be more specific? I've duped a lot of units and actors before (including in this map) and never had this issue.
