I have a missile using the Mutalisk model. When it hits, it just disappears. Instead, I want it to play the death animation. I tried setting Death effects for various types of deaths in the missile's GenericAttackMissile actor. No luck.
Does the missile's impact generate a death event for the missile, if so what type of death?
If death can't be added by means of Death Effects, what other alternatives are there? Adding an impact effect wouldn't take into account the direction of the missile, right? Nor have I had much luck with ImpactFX anyway.
I just want a missile to DIE. It shouldn't be that hard.
I guess you missed the part where I mentioned impact effects. No, I don't want an impact effect, I want the missile itself to die with a death animation.

not entirely sure, but it sounds like you want the "muta-missile" to die on IMPACT.
Take a look at the weapons, and let's take for example, the "Immortal - Phase Disruptors" attack.
Notice under MODEL, that is has:
Basically, you need to duplicate the Mutalisk Death model, rename it to "custom-unit_AttackImpact" or whatever, then link that to your custom weapon.
