How do I get the caster of an ability to move towards the target point if the target point is out of range?

Uncheck "transient" from the ability's flags.
There's a few abilities you could compare it to that do this. I had a quick look at Psi Storm.
There are a few flags in the various tabs called "approach". These may help? There's also one under Stats called "Allow movement". Maybe this is related?
I'm just guessing here, as I don't actually know.
