OK i used the carriers inceptor build/launch effect to scv on a "hero tank" im making but they attack how do i change the attack command to a repair command.
PS:theres a glitch if u tell them to attack air they come out ans just sit while the tanks turret spinning slowly until it does a 360 but i can build i can move tell them to attack anything but repair help?
i have a glitch if it attacks a air unit which it cant but allows it the scvs come out they just sit there i can build buildingspatrol move attack mine minerls but i cant repair...
If you place the spawned units in the editor see if they can repair then. This is a check to see if the repair on the unit is at fault or if it is linked to being an ammo unit.

Okay, This is EXACTLY the problem I have spent all afternoon searching for. I'm gutted there wasn't an answer at the bottom!
So let me go into a little more detail so it's understandable :P
I have a unit (Mech Unit) and one of his abilities is to Deploy a Repair Squad (Which happen to be our SCVs).
I copied the Carrier Interceptor ability, however instead of making the launch ability into a weapon, it's an ability that can be activated via the command card (it's not a weapon, after all). The problem is that when using the Arm Magazine via the Effect - Use Magazine, it considers the caster unit as the Target (as if it were targeted via the weapon system), which is fine if it would repair, but for some reason attack is the default action and the SCV will attack the caster unit.
To answer the questions about "can the unit repair?" the answer is Yes, the deployed SCV can repair. If i clicked on repair and then on my unit it would repair it and return to the inside. It just defaults to attack, which is a pin in the bum.
I'm going to keep digging a little deeper into this one, but if there is anyone out there that can help then that would be great. I do have some other work-arounds such as create unit with timed life etc etc, but i really want to do it this way.!
Thanks in advance.
Why with this topic do people give no details as to what they have tried or not?
The default order with the Launch magazine effect is to attack, to do something else you need to either give the units no attack or tell them to do something else.
A similar problem arises with external magazine units, they all target the host units weapons/attack ability target (even though both can be untargetable/disabled with requirements and they still attack).

I tried to be as thorough as I could in explaining what I had done. I missed your suggestion about issue order, but I have been scouring the internet all day trying to figure this out by myself, and its almost 3am and I'm tired. I think the fact that I DIDN'T specify that I had tried your suggestion was a clear indication that I had not tried it anyway.
As it goes, I have figured a solution, as I came to the conclusion that the Use Magazine Effect must be hard coded into the game to use the attack command, as removing it, changing set ids around etc. etc. did not work.
My solution was to change the damage effect on the unit weapon to that of the repair ability. Job done.
My next task is to have the repair squad deploy once damage is taken - I'm not entirely sure about this, however I believe that the damage response area is where I should be looking? and maybe a validator to determine health (so they are not popping out every 2 minutes!).
As a final note, Please don't so readily jump down on people who ask questions. Patience is an amazing quality.
i will try issue order repair i have them create not carry them is there any way i could make so they only repair the siege tank not everything around it (siege tank hero) but this should be getting easier to fix because i started this idea when i started learning
Try altering the filters since there are plenty of values that can be made unique/semi unique. Since how many Player and Massive units do you indent each player to have? Also consider the Augment ability as that can be autocast and uses an ability on casting.

ok i got the basic of the ability to work just need to figure out how to make the scvs only repair the siege tank nothing else i have it create them and have a 20 second life
I noticed something today while working on Interceptor-derived units that may be relevant to this topic.
When the weapon that launches the magazine units can target a unit that they themselves cannot, they'll just sit around the parent unit and can be ordered around like normal. It's only when the launching weapon locks onto a target that they can attack as well that the get forced into attacking it. Getting the SCVs to just move around and repair should be as easy as disabling their weapon from attacking anything meaningful.
Actually the Arm - Magazine is a tad more complex than that with ordering the spawned units to attack. This function requires the host unit to have both a functional weapon (any, since extrernal magaine units dont need Launch Magazine effects to be ordered to attack) and the attack ability. Even though both can be deactivated using requrements it still can order spawned units to attack, only disable weapon seems to stop this.
If what you have found out is true then by giving the spawned units the appropriate validators, you could get them to attack under conditions like host unit health is under or greater than 50%.

Hmm. Is there any way to get a Launch Magazine effect to work without a specific target? Something other than a weapon? I've tried it as the periodic effect of a Behavior, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

@aczchef: Go
Nobody will help you until your question is comprehensible.
Maybe try making the SCV weapon a healer only able to target allies while it has a second anti enemy dmg weapon?

that is taking the messy way out i want to make it repair not attack
Try having a search with a validator hp <x% and an issue order effect linked to repair?
Also when the unit is not created with the arm magazine ability can it repair?
