in another thread this issue came up and because that thread is too general in its name, i'll try to find an answer on the issue with an own thread.
i need an critical strike. a simple critical strike with an fixed value is kinda possible, even if the ways to create such an behaviour are not that "good".
point is, i need a REAL critical strike, that multiplies the actual units/heroes damage like several times.
doing that with triggers would work, the thing is to get the acutal unit´s damage value.
it changes a lot during my game,and it changes from 20 to 1000 or more, so i definitly need the real damage value and multiply it several times.
if anyone has any idea on this one, a real working one - that would be really nice!
also if actually someone has an already working crit that uses an unit´s real damage value, and would give it to the public, that would be great toO!
Where Critical Hit would be a damage effect that does 0 damage.
I have a few ideas on a data approach, basically just duplicate the damage effect and give it a chance to proc. But IMO this is so much cleaner to just do as code, as you can do the maths however you need to.
seriously, its that simple - sometimes you have to let someone else think it through and you'll see how easy it could have been.
works perfectly, also its simple to show the dealt critical damage as a text tag over the unit now.

edit: solved an issue, i had attributes increase ranged and spell damage on some units, what caused to apply the bonus damage (that affected by the attributes) to be dealt again.
