I would really appreciate some information about markers used by several data types. Searching the forums did not give me enough information (just the basics, like using a marker for a persistant effect and using the no marker validator for some of the periodic effects) Really, the only usage of markers I get to work right now, is if used with a persistent effect.
How do markers work exactly? What are these match/mismatch flags? Why are there 4 differend kinds of markers (player, unit, id, link) and how are they actually handled/separated? How to use markers in other ways, for example, if you have no persistant effects, but only an effect chain (like a bouncing missile. Effect chain like this: launch 1-> search 1 -> launch 2 ...)? Which effect should apply markers in this case and which one checks for no markers? Which type of marker do you use? How to check for markers in a search effect? Validators do not seem to work and I do not fully understand target sorts (at least could not get them to ignore marker'ed units - in case they were actually correctly markered)
I tried various combinations for this specific example: the Mutalisk seems to work applying markers in the weapon and using no markers validators for the launch effects. I have an ability for a bouncing missile, so I thought I just use the same markers in the ability and use the validators for the launch effects, that did not work at all. The missile still happily bounces between 2 targets
I used the original mutalisk launch effect for the ability and the same marker settings, but abilities do not seem to support markers the same way weapons do. Quite strange to see a mutalisk attacking 3 targets with the exact same effects a spellcaster nearby is using on the same units, but the spell bounces between 2 units and the mutalisk attacks hit all 3 ones -.-
I would really like to avoid behaviors for this; also like stated, I would lke to understand markers a little better.
So if I missed an important tutorial, please notify me. I appreciate any help :)

Searched the forums and found the same basic stuff too. I would also like to know more.
