This is from what I can work out a result of the tentacle attacks. After its been killed whichever unit it attacked last takes periodic damage as if its still being hit by the tentacle.
I noticed this as well. You could try to add validators (there should be a CasterNotDead - validator or something) to the persistent effects responsible for this.
Still hurts units after it has been killed.

Thanks I applied the casternotdead to the damage effect and it seems to have worked!
