Arrgh.. so I know how to tint beams, units, spells, whatever right... Well, I made a custom range indicator(Actor) (Think Siege Tank's/Sensor Tower's white circle when they're selected)for a unit and it works great.
So I threw in an ActorCreation in the events, points to my RangeIndicator. SetTintColor and want it to be orange... well, when I select the unit in game, the Range Indicator remains white.
I've tried placing the Tint at the very start of the events, in the middle and it just won't work. I am using the default range icon (RadarIcon1.dds) and now I'm just wondering if the DDS textures can be colored? Does anyone know?
I basically duplicated the SiegeTankSiegedRange actor, so if you wanna test it out, do it to the siege tank.
Tried send actor message with actor and it wouldn't tint also. This seems weird as I use dialog image with that image and tint it ok. Guess actor using 2d image might be different. You can always export that image, paint it and import back
hmm, aright thanks. I did find a temporary solution, however. I changed the icon to lightbeam_orange_diffuse.dds and it doesn't look half bad... only bad thing is that there are only 4 colors to choose from, and 2 of them are blue. Will just have to make do for the moment.
