First of, I want to apologise if this has been asked and solved before - I've been searching for the answer or a topic that would answer my question but I can't find one.
All I want to know is how do I remove / switch a weapons effect?
For example, I've got the Hellion and all I want to do is remove the effect whereby it's weapon damages X targets along path Y (trying to make a small machine gun jeep effectively - switched the models, sounds etc.).
Thanks in advance for all help - appreciate this may be dead simple for most people :)
@madlibrarian: Go You need to edit the action actor for this attack. There you can set different models for the attack itself and the visual effect on hit targets. But to change the death animation used you need to edit the damage effect used by the weapon, there is a field called 'death type' or something similiar.
@madlibrarian: Go You mean you want a maximum number or targets right? It really depends on the desired effect. Do you still want splash damage in any form or a simple Marine's rifle attack?
One attack with one target ideally - so whereas the Hellion can shoot 5 zerglings if they're in a line, I want it to instead attack (as you put it) like a marine's attack - one shot, one target only :)
@madlibrarian: Go That's easy, all you need to do is to set the damage effect as the effect used by the weapon. Then in the action actor you need to reference this effect to call for all visual effects. You can compare your action actor with the Marine's and see how its done.

That's good - but how do I prevent it damaging units along the line of fire?
