So was looking at having to relearn the stuff tutorial listed here shows. Unfortunately some of the pictures are no longer even available, making it fairly cryptic to even attempt to follow. A post that shows the missing images, or better yet a short video showing you doing that same thing or changing something else, would be fantastic.
In short enable the slot (Texture: Texture Declarations - Adaptions - Applies to File or Texture: Texture Declarations - Adaptions - Applies to Innate). Do this for each texture you want to swap. If the texture is in a different folder make sure the first index number is different.
Set the Texture: Texture Declarations - Adaptions - Slot field to whatever you have not yet used for that texture type (diffuse, emissive or normal). Add a period and the texture type if that helps eg. main.diffuse.
Set Texture: Texture Declarations - Adaptions - Trigger on Substring and Texture: Texture Declarations - Prefix to the last part beginning with a _ and the first part ending with a _ of the texture you want to replace. Some textures just are obstinant and need the full texture name for both. Capitalization is important.
Set your actor to use the Texture Select By ID event action.
Sometimes maps just bug with actors and repeating the exact same setup in a new map fixes the issue.

Text is fine, pictures are not, this stuff isn't clear at all:
MAIN REFERENCE
.................................
Actors Tab
Find Prison Zealot, and modify Events - Events+ field. Scroll down to the bottom, select the last entry, right click, Add Event then modify the Event to look like the following
Actor Creation
TextureSelectById PrisonZealot_Diffuse.
Add a few new events, should look like this when you are done.
Pretty clear the pictures just plain are not there any more, I don't think I can follow what is no longer there. Anyways I'll try again in a couple hours when I got more free time.

The text explains it quite simply.
