Hey guys. I'm having problems with following. I'm trying to create effects in random points in a circle, without periodic offsets but with site operation, is it even possible to attach effect target point to actor somehow?
i just thought that it can be done with help of invisible missiles eh?
Well i dont get why my questions is always hard to understand, the first post describes my problem straight. Basicaly i need to create couple of periodic damage effects in a random points in a circle. Periodic offsets doesn't provide such function, so i want to know how to create this with site operation actor.
I will give you a map if you still got some problems with understanding. Spell in this map doesn't work properly at this moment, my damage effect hits stationary point while visuals hitting random points i want to fix this.
Site operations (and actors in general) do not have any effect on the gameplay, they are purely visual.
If you want your damage effects to target random points in a circle, you need to prepare a set of offsets resembling a circle for a persistent effect and check the random offset flag. The more offsets you use, the closer it will resemble a circle.
Ye, thats what i expected to read. Just wanted to know if there was any way to attach effects to this random points, generated by siteop actor. So there are no such option, i get it. Thanks.
Edit: I saw some actions in actor such as ActionDamage, and term -> EffectParent what they are suppose to do?

ActionDamage is an actor message related to Action actors, indicating that a damage effect started and the actor can run the associated assets. The EffectParent term should have something to do with referencing the parents of the effects in the actor instead of the effects themselves.

Not sure, if I follow: What exactly do you want to do?
There is the Random Point in Circle site operation.
sure, why not?
What would you need invisible missiles for?

So not helpful for us.
I'll post here a map with desired result, made with trigger. Just if someone interested in making something similiar.
