I am ready to create my own custom models. I am now familiar with 3dsmax and I feel that I have the ability to create my own models, so I may use in a future game. So I browsed may of the sc2mapster forums. I found tutorials about this, but most confused me more than helped! I heard something spoken about bones(I have to create them in 3dsmax before I create my model?), something about an alpha channel (What does this have to do with anything?), along with 3rd party programs I would need to import and export models. I'm afraid to get started on a model because I am afraid I might forget something important during the early stages (bones?). Please help.

My suggestion is to create simple model. And animate it. Really really simple model.

Do you animate using biped? (this is what i thought he meant from "bones")
