posted a message on SC2Mapster noob requests help!

Hello SC2Mapster, this is my first post. I hope this is the right forum, because I didn't see a noob questions forum.

I came up with a map idea that I think is cool. Instead of having your normal 1v1 obs map, I was going to make a 8-player single elimination tournament map, with 7 observer slots. The four Round 1 matches would be played simultaneously, using the camera and minimap shrinking triggers to keep players from being distracted by (or interfering with) other games. The trick was finding 4 competitive, well-respected maps that would meet the size requirements, since all 4 have to fit within 256x256. I went to Liquipedia to determine the maps they play in GSL, etc., and I came up with is:

    • Crossfire SE in the top left (108 horiz, 160 vertical, i think aiur tileset?)
    • Xel'naga Caverns in the top right (140 horiz, 124 vertical, ulaan tileset)
    • iCCup Pawn Re in the bottom left (128 horiz, 96 vertical, korhal tileset)
    • Bel'shir Beach in the bottom right (120 horiz, 128 vertical, belshir tileset)

Maybe after getting the single elim version working I could introduce other tournament modes (double elim, swiss, etc.), which I guess would make the "mode" selector that many custom maps don't use actually useful on mine.

The plan of attack is to download editable versions of all of these maps, reduce textures to 2 and cliff types to 1, then copy and paste terrain, etc., into a new 248 horiz by 256 vertical map. Scaling down textures is necessary so that 8 textures and 4 cliff types will be in the final map. I've already scaled down the textures on XelNaga Caverns and it doesn't look too much worse for wear. I'm betting upclose inspection will reveal the lower res, but to get all the maps in one map you need to make sacrifices. And I already found a tutorial on using Data Editor to mess with available textures.

The problem is that I can't find a way to open the other maps in the editor... Caverns is the only Blizzard map of the bunch. I've tried playing games in Crossfire SE and BelShir Beach, but it never saves it to Recently Played Games. And I honestly can't find iCCup Pawn at all, although I'm not having trouble finding replays of progamers playing it.

Yes, guys, I googled for them. No luck.

Without a way to copy and paste terrain data, etc., the project would either take entirely too long or be overly prone to error.

Where could I download copies of these maps?
