I dunno how this thingy work but i think u could also do something like make a model actor, find a model with a circle or glowy thing, or the same model the pylon uses, scale the model to the desired size(the range of the pylon) and then attach the actor to the pylon unit, i think with site operation. anyways im just trying to help, i tried something like it before, not exactly this. hope it helps with ideas.
