I was thinking that perhaps one of those "unit specific upgrades" caused the Hauler that you upgraded to fly. I would say it should be a cheap upgrade though, and the other option would probably be some sort of impressive speed increase.
The unit cannon idea is an interesting one, and could still be just as useful for it as an air unit...
I have not seen any maps that do not have chasams that could be made leapable and a scaler mover would sort out most of the rest. Also a hunterling like leap that is automatic is not that hard.

Guys, we need to do something about this project. Clearly the current number of collaborators won't make it happen. What about a rushed public test? We have already done some great stuff here, but if we don't release it somehow I fear this project will be buried here forever. I've been away from SC2 lately and I probably won't keep working on my own projects, but this is a community project and it must keep going.
I have a PhD to do so lack the hours to pour into making awesome stuff. Sadly it has always been a 4 man show so far, unless you can recruit more people with time on their hands it will just be slow progress.

Wow, this is great. I've read entire threads of these projects and you guys definitely need additional manpower no doubt. I know a couple of friends that may be willing to help with the drawing, but I think it would be best to give the public a try to spark the interest of people and eventually get a bigger recruiting team.
I'm not so sure about how often this guy goes on here but he clearly has done a fantastic job of his own race, and it wouldn't hurt if you guys pm a bit. Anyways, yeah, this project is great, and it would all go to a waste if it is not revived so please make a test run. Thanks!
They are all melee or simple sentry like beam attacks, no abilities or defining features next to custom models. Beam weapons that just do damage are rather simple.
@topspin429: Go He is saying that a new race needs more than simple combat units. Every race needs abilities, upgrades, economy boosters, scout units, and so on. I haven't checked the mod myself but I trust in DrSuperEvil's opinion about it. What we are doing here includes extensive work with all the melee details, and that's a lot of extra work to do.
Feel free to join us and bring more ideas, we definitely need them.
As far as the video footage went there was not a single spellcaster although there were several range 7+ units (painful to balance). In a way it reminds me of the campaign only enemy race in the galactic civilizations campaigns.
Yeah, I have a pretty important deadline so am busy until may. Have not even gotten round to finishing my harvest ability simulation map (allows more control/complex economies for resources).
Also this is meant to be a community project, not a 3 man team. All people in the community are meant to improve upon the lastest version of the map and then repost it.

In that mod so far most of the stuff looks like custom models with rather generic attacks.
