Changelog

0.88 Beta (Act II)

  • Several UI elements were simplified. Save slot 1 save slot 2 save slot 3 buttons are all now 'save hero' which quicksaves your hero to their assigned slot.
  • Quest givers are now marked with ! and ? in perspective to the players progress in the quest chain.
  • Feedback cast time increased to 0.55 seconds (from 0.3)
  • New base defense quest

Bug fixes/balance

  • Removed the "objective complete" directive text from numerous quests
  • The Experience counter was redesigned, and now displays the correct experience for your hero.
  • You no longer lose unspent stat points if you die.
  • You no longer lose unspent stat points if you don't spend them immediatly. *You can level 2 times, and you'll still have your 2 stat points to spend*
  • The experience required for all levels has been reduced by roughly 97%! The experience gained from killing mobs has been reduced by 95%.
  • Mobs now only grant experience to heroes up to a certain hero level. Players should be encouraged to quest in content that's challenging for their level.
  • Bank files 'temp' section was removed. Your hero now automaticly saves to their assigned slot every 30 seconds worth of combat. Your hero will load from that assigned slot on res.
  • Bank file size has been reduced by almost 50%, and the map will trim unused bank data on loading. It should be more multiplayer friendly.
  • Too many quests were triggering too often, so a few more conditions added to the quest triggers.

0.87c Beta (Act I)

  • New Lifestealing stat! This stat generates 2.5% of damage dealt as shields/life per point, and regenerates 0.5% of damage dealt as energy!
  • Damage dealt by Snipe, Acid Spit has been increased
  • Damage scaling by Blinding Goo has been increased
  • The barrier blocking the last Hybrid Destroyers Lair will now explode if you approach Chal'marr with the Queens Heart

Bugfixes

  • Extra experience is generated based on how many active users are present. It was dividing the total experience between all players present, therefore, players would level faster in single player games. This has been fixed.
  • New manual load feature. Load one of another players heros by typing -loadhero player# slot# This is a quickfix for people who can't find their save banks in multiplayer games. Just get a friend to load your hero, and save it to an unused slot before you leave.
  • Bank temporary save slot (the slot you res from) now properly saves when you finish spending stat points.
  • The Stat buttons no longer light up upon resing/loading when you have no stat points to spend.
  • Healing Text Trigger was causing performance issues since it was being triggered the computer players regeneration as well, Healing text can now only be seen by healing a user controlled players unit.

0.87c Beta (Act II)

  • Bosses will now ALWAYS drop at least 1 peice of gear. More players means more gear, and a higher chance to drop superior gear.

  • Radius of Shared experience increased to 128
  • Act I now supports up to 5 players, up from 4.
  • Several old/unused bank keys were removed
  • Hybrid Destroyers damage dealt by Plasma Bolt reduced slightly
  • Save banks now store the players name as text, and tell you whose hero you just loaded.
  • After the base defense event, Chal'marr gains a new ability that causes him to 1shot any hostiles within a radius of 4. Enemies killed by this effect will NOT respawn.

0.87 beta (Act II)

  • The map size has been reduced from 192x192 to 192x128 since ATI video cards refused to work on anything larger than 192x128.

0.87 Release (Act I )

  • Creatures now have a 30 minute respawn timer (depending on the creature)
  • Creatures now have more items on their loot tables! Armors, rejuv potions, life potions, energy potions may now drop (and usually lessers instead of minors)
  • Agility +damage increase component increased
  • Haste benefit from agility increased
  • Fixed a minimap bug when zoning out of the west end of the swamps.
  • Damage meter displays the most recent 3 second window of damage done as DPS.

0.86d release (act I)

  • New critical Strike stat!
  • Several Items have had their highlight tooltips updated, you can now see what drops without having to pick the item up

  • Several Item changes in preparation for Act II, which will be done on a seperate map

bugfixes

  • Quest Tracking now Tracks the last boss encounter.
  • The abandoned armory will automaticly be ported to the base for players who have completed the Hybrid Reaver base defense encounter. Just talk to Chal'marr
  • Spectre Psionic Lash upgrade tooltip updated to the correct description
  • When a player repicks their hero, all items the hero left on the ground will disappear. This was done to combat item duping.
  • The Stone Zealot (if destroyed) may re-appear if a new hero reaches that part of the quest chain (allowing the Stone Zealot to be killed again)
  • The scientist (first questgiver) will automaticly give the hero a transporter beacon if the Distruption shield generator is already destroyed.
  • Game UI has been set to Unlock mode by default
  • Hybrid Reaver's (second boss) Bio-Plasmid Discharge damage dealt reduced to 250 (from 500)
  • Several classes can no longer pick certain stats, (for example, an ultralisk can't stack intelligence, a High Templar can't stack strength)
  • Heroes no longer have a chance to gain a stat point upon resurrecting. This was cheesy and totally unintended.
  • The armor benefits from agility and strength has been lowered by roughly 28% per point

0.85d beta

  • Reset Stats button will refund your stat points if you didn't spend your stat points properly. This will always refund the proper amount of talent points back for a character of your level.
  • Respawn triggers are fixed
  • A third inventory bag has been added
  • The Save/Load triggers now track quest progression
  • New boss, Hybrid Kronnis. He does an aoe snare, followed by an omega storm (an aoe), and he steals 900 health from a random party member every 20 seconds. Stay out of aoes, kill him fast.
  • The Omegalisk boss now does a frontal cone fire aoe that deals 2200 damage over 3 seconds. Don't be in front of him
  • The last boss, Hybrid Destroyer now spawns Magmalisk, instead of aberritions, and has a new ability, Enflame. This ability causes chaotic aoe damage to nearby targets
  • The stats dialog now displays your proper level and stacks of attributes
  • Several new types of mobs, higher level mobs are typically darker and larger than lower level mobs
  • Hero changes
  • Level 4 5 and 6 of improved shields talent added for all heroes
  • Marauder now has a rank 2 corrosion bolt talent, causing corrosion bolt to deal 115 damage increased by strength, in addition to its original effects
  • Marauder now has an improved Stimpack talent, causing stimpack to grant 50% haste instead of 25
  • Ultralisk now has a rank 2 Sweeping Strikes talent, causing an additional 33% damage dealt by sweeping strikes
  • Spectre auto attacks now refund 9 energy (baseline)
  • Spectre now has 3 ranks of a new talent, Psionic Weapons, causing each of his weapon attacks to grant 9 additional energy per rank.
  • Spectre Experimental plasma gun now costs 35 energy, up from 13
  • Medic - Chemical warefare now has a rank 2 talent. Damage bonus from rank 1 has been reduced
  • Roach - Damage aura now has a rank 2 talent. Damage bonus from rank 1 has been reduced
  • Dark Templar now has Frenzy rank 2 talent. Damage bonus from rank 1 has been reduced.
  • Dark Templar now has Guardian Aura Rank 2 talent, which increases haste to 30% while active.

0.85 beta (previous changes)

  • -New hero Pick Menu. I know, the old hero pick library by sweetzombiejezus was better, but the new system supports save/load of heroes.
  • You can now save up to 3 heroes at once on battle.net. This also stores your hero's cash, items, stat points and talent upgrades.
  • Experience gain normalized, new level cap of 40
  • The Stats tab will flash when you gain a level, an indicator that you need to spend a stat point
  • You no longer gain stat points/levels from dying and resing

0.83 release -Two quest cinematics added.

  • -Players now pick their stat points through a new submenu on their command card instead of the dialog. This prevents players from picking their stat points while driving/piloting a vehicle, losing their point
  • -All abilities (except Spectre - Consumption) now have their secondary hotkeys clarified in their tooltips. All abilities will now state in bold letters 'Press 1 to cast on your current target' or 'Press 7 to cast on yourself'.
  • -High Templar has a few new talent upgrades, Improved Feedback and a second rank of improved psi storm
  • -You can no longer pick up Chal'marr with the dropship
  • -Chal'marr is now much harder to kill
  • -Chal'marr will now retaliate if attacked by a human player
  • -Players can no longer enter the 'destroy the distruption field generator' quest zone until they've reached that part of the quest chain.
  • -Spectre - Psi Shield has had its energy cost removed
  • -Spectre - Experimental Plasma Gun has had its base damage increased by 7
  • -Transition between quest zones should 'blend' alot better for unlock mode players.
  • -Queens lair should be accessable without switching to lock camera (third person) mode.
  • -Amount of mobs in starting zones has been reduced
  • -Queen Infestor should no longer be dealing damage based on a % of the targets heealth

0.82 -Intro cinematic deleted (was causing serious camera issues on multiplayer which made it unplayable) -Some types of items that do not consume charges now have a ridiculous cooldown instead! (grenades, gravity bombs) -Burrow (Queen Infestor, Roach, Ultralisk) no longer removes your stacks of agility/intelligence/strength. The correct attributes are applied after the hero unburrows -Enemies now hit harder when more players are present, gaining +20% damage done per player present -Difficulty now adjusts when a player leaves the game

0.81b -Intro cinematic added -grenades now properly consume charges -preview map image updated -all npc's are now unselectable (but not untargettable)
