    you will need to create a custom footprint for the the pylons to allow movement along a small slither of all edges, so that the probe can fit in there, and if the ultralisk can still fit, increase the raidus of the ultralisk

    After discussions on irc with jade and onetwo, it doesn't look like this is possibly with the in built harvest ability without messy workarounds.

    I have created a structure that auto-casts gather minerals, and that works no problem. The structure is also a drop off point for minerals, now for units that drop off points are themselves this works no problems, but because the structure doesn't move it can't drop off to itself for some reason.

    Any ideas on how to fix this, so that it can mine minerals and drop them off to itself without moving?

    Secondly, I want the harvest ability to have an energy cost, I can put it in the auto cast ability I have created for the harvest, which works in this order:
    "ability instant - target" -> "effect - search area - random mineral patch" -> "effect - issue order harvest minerals" -> "ability harvest - minerals"

    But the problem is once it has the order to harvest it will continue with that one order till that mineral patch is depleted, is there anyway to stop that order after it gathers one round of minerals, so that I can give the ability an energy cost?

    I'm not sure what the first map you uploaded is doing?

    the consume map you added, is it possible for the units "sacrificed" to be the progress of the building, so do it without the scv to build the building? so the 7 marines are the progress for the building to be completed, rather than just being required

    Pretty much what FuzzYD said.

    During university my first investment was a laptop, it was great, I was able to take it to lectures take my notes bring them home on my laptop, saved the hassle of a lot of paper, assignments could be done anywhere. It was perfect

    BUT

    Then started Igaming, Warcraft 3, battlefield 2142, which my laptop could handle but it was very unimpressive, so I got into custom building my PC's and never looked back, and to be honest I don't think I ever will, people say that PC gaming is dying.. I say bullshit. console gaming is only popular in the young ins because having a respectable PC costs 5 times more... for a console everyone has the same.... there are no spec requirements when you buy a game. I won't ever game seriously on a console or a laptop

    PC attracts those that like to be in control of what they are using, which IMO majority of gamers are after.

    Thanks almaity for doing the last couple of exercises, I have a slightly different one up for this week

    Weekly Data Exercise #19

    What I want to try and do here is create new ways for the build ability to be used, so we have the terran scv build where the scv runs around actually builds the building, the protoss warps buildings in a pylon powered area and the zerg morph drones and other building into new ones.

    So can we come up with some new ways of creating buildings? I am sure we can, they can be modifications on the current races or completly new ways, lets see what we can do.

    Challenges:

    • Consume Build - The building consumes a type of unit to make progress in building, so it would take say 20 of this one type of unit to actually complete the building, those units would be no more but at the end of it there would be a complete building.
    • Aura Build - Buildings can be placed by workers but work can not be progressed without a hero(or similar type of unit) is in range to encourage them, think ancient times, they had slaves to build things, and the slaves probably wouldn't have done the work without the guys with whips around to stop them from slacking.

    I'll leave it at that for now, look forward to seeing any other ideas people come up with

    What you have done works perfectly, its kinda of the reason that map (I think lost temple is the name), the original map had cliff above the natural and it was OP to siege tank abuse by Terran, it wouldn't be so much the case as you have access to that high ground from higher ground, but just making it completely inaccessible by blocking the terrain works

    The ones beside the so called third expansion in the image above. there is a cliff running down to that part of the cliff but then what form there? It looks like an extremly convenient location to drop/proxy/nydus into someones main seeing as there is no ramp up there people would unlikely wall it off

    First of all Welcome to mapster!

    I take it this is a 2v2 map, the layout interests me, I currently don't see purpose of the 1st level cliff below the mains but above the 2nd expansions?

    Its all very flat, try roughening it up a little, the terrain looks ok though, adding a bit of height variation should make it look better.

    And as always... it needs more rocks! :D

    As for balance, I cannot comment as ladder is not a forte of mine

    Simple answer... you can't

    you can do spreadsheets and all sort of calculations, but until you play the game many times and make minor adjustments to each level and the towers you will never get it to a challenging but possible state.
