i cant think of a tut but to fix your earlier issue the problem is the setting the variables they are not set properly it says last created dialog they need to be last created dialog item
but for the building you just place it and give a build order for it using data cant remember how to do that off by hand or of any tuts a quick search might help
its more work but not impossible there are 2 ways to do it one with a building every spawns with and second using the dialog method but checking for required gas and subtracting gas when purchased
i noticed that choose darkness builder the button is named wierd "Choose Darkness Builder Botton" and light is "Choose Light Builder Button" by anychance did you set up the dialog buttons correctly as in appended them to the proper variables

im fairly sure triggering is the wrong way to go imo i would look more towards using the data editor instead thats my 2 cents
