I've looked every and I can't seem to figure out how to make a box pop up to have players vote (or the host choose I guess) the difficulty of the map, I just want to use the basic 4 (casual, normal, hard, brutal) I don't need to make them fancy for my needs, I've gone through all the actions and I can't seem to find an option for it, do I have to piece by piece put together the box, then all the buttons, or is there an easy way to do it? All the ones I've seen look almost the same so I'm assuming it's built in somewhere
No >< I've edited everything on the unit and I can't figure out what it was.. edit load edit load edit load... was hoping someone else had the same problem as this.
Problem solved, it didn't like me giving the unit a 2x2 footprint.
I broke a unit, I know it's not the weapon because the same weapon on another unit works fine, I'm using the ATS cannon on the BC on another unit, it worked fine then trying to change some other stuff I flipped a switch and have tried to backtrack my steps and I can't figure out what I did. It shoots one laser then stops until I tell it to attack something new...
goto the units weapon, click on it and goto view, then goto the effect tab of that weapon and select it you'll have to modify area and stuff but i just tested it with a goliath and it adds the storm effect and everything to it
While I have a few people reading I have one other issue, I screwed up a unit's attack somehow, it shoots one laser then stick to the target but does not continue to fire, I stole the BC's laser attack and put out a BC and tested it and it still works so I messed it up on the unit itself somehow but I'm not sure what I did, any idea why it would only fire 1 attack at a target? It's a stationary unit and it worked before at a full 360 degree range and e verything but I hit something that makes it only fire once now...
yeah, that value doesn't change, even if I find a value that will make my tank do damage. With all my other units I modified, all I had to change was the damage of the weapon they were linked to and those values changed.
I can't figure it out, I've found everything about it but how to modify auto targeted damage, and how to have it displayed on the unit. this is the ONLY unit I've had this problem with so far.
goto your data editor
Open the Units section
At the top click Data > Add new object
Fill it out like this:
Unit Name you want here
hit suggest
CUnit
CUnit
Family: Melee
Race: Toss
Object Type : Unit
Copy From: Zealot
NEXT step, open up your actors data type
Data > Add Object
SAME UNIT NAME HERE
Suggest
CActorUnit
Based on: GenericUnitBase
Doodad Type: NotDoodad
Copy from: Zealot
ALMOST there
on the right side click the ART tab
Actor Model will be what you want the unit to look like in teh game in this case Zealot
Build model will be what it looks like while it's building, for units I don't THINK it matters
Placementactormodel also applies to buildings
placement model whatever unit you picked in this case Zealot
PortraitModel what you want the guy to look like when you click on him, in this case, Zealot
You've just created a second unit that is close to the main one, next you need to make a button and stuff for it, if you've done this you should be able to figure out the button part, you goto buttons section, add object and follow logic from there.
I did.
I started at the Siege Breaker.
That took me to Arclite Shock Cannon
That took me to Arclite Shock Cannon Set
which takes you to guess what
Arclite Shock Cannon Set
Arclite Shock Cannon Directed (which as stated above only modifies when you tell it to attack something.
follow Arcliteshockcannonblastset and GUESS WHAT AGAIN?!!
It goes to
ArcliteShockCannonBlast (Doesn't affect Damage)
ArcliteShockCannonFriendlyDamage (durp durp)
ArcliteShockCannonEnemyDamage (Also doesn't modify unit damage)
There is no weapon modifier on Shock Cannon Set. So stop implying I'm stupid, and help me. I had no choice but to trial and error the resulting effects because there IS NO trace route to where the damage is. Which is why I'm here.

So I change the dummy effect to change the Icon, and I change... what to change the actual damage?

Awesome, thanks so much!

@David3012: Go it's Under the Art tab to the right under CActorModel scale in case you're like me and need it a little more specific
It may or may not go without saying but change x,y, and z or your unit will look screwy.
