    hi, im looking for a skilled terrainer to help with a map i want to create. i suck pretty hard at terraining, so i came here for help. first off i will give a description of the custom game im trying to make.

    basically it will be a game for 8-10 players so the map itself will have to be fairly huge to support that many. a player is able to select from any of the 3 races (toss terran zerg) and the drone/scv/probe of that race will be spawned at a random location on the map next to a 1 mineral patch and 1 gas geyser (there will also be random pick up minerals for a player to get aswell). the goal of the game is to basically dominate all of the opponents on the map and go for world domination. in order to do this a player must expand and build there facilities and build there armies.

    the mechanics/gameplay will basically be no different from a regular SC2 melee game, the main difference tho is there will only be a single mineral patch to be mined from. a player will have to find other mineral patches and gas geysers to mine from which will in turn expand there "territory". the more mineral patches and gas geysers a player finds to mine from, then naturally the more income he will receive. this will allow him to build powerful units and powerful defenses to protect his/her territory from invasion/domination of other players.

    at the center of the map there will be 4 gold mineral patches and 2 geysers on top of a 2 level cliff. these resources are blocked off by large destructible rocks and 2 powerful "guardians". whoever is able to secure and hold this territory of the map will be able to mass up a very powerful army and proceed to destroy the other players. so players will have to be constantly aware of who is trying to secure the middle territory of the map and stop them!

    and thats the description of the game i have in mind and want to create. for now all i want done is the terrain for this map. here is the map that i tried to create just to get a very basic idea of what i have in mind.

    as u can see the map looks like it was done by a 5 year old, thats how bad i am lol, but im hoping that whoever does help me with the creation of this map can get a idea/understanding of what im trying to create. the command centers are just there for reference points of spawn locations. of course i will give very special thx to whoever decides to help me.

    also for the map type id like it to be campaign and not melee since i want to use units/heroes/mercenaries/doodads from the campaign in this map. if u need any more info or want to ask questions then feel free to ask.

    hi, i need a good terrainer and u seem to be very good. the type of map is fairly simple. basically the game i have in mind is a game for about 8 to 10 players and needs to be huge.

    the basic idea of the map is 8-10 players are basically put into a jungle/planet/space platform/wherever. you can pick from any of the 3 races (zerg terran protoss) and it will be a base/conquest type of game. the players are spawned on this map and they must fight for semi scarce resources in order to build there bases/army and expand there territory. players will be fighting for territory space in order for them to mine more resources and gas and more room to build there production and research buildings in order to dominate everyone on the map.

    so with that being said i would like for a skilled terrainer to create a map that is big enough for 8-10 players while keeping in mind what the game is all about. for now i just want the terrain for the map done.

    and of course i will give very special thx to anyone that helps out.

    Find "Search" by the profile area and type "WTE 23". Click the first link.

    Test yourself there with terrain and look over other people's terrain ideas. Ask for help around there and join in. Remember your focus in there is to train yourself so play along and do what the excersise tells you to do. Once the WTE is over, do the next one and the next one until you feel you are ready. This may take weeks of practice so don't rush it. What to do about Triggers

    Go to "Search" again and type "(Blank) Tutorial". Put whatever trigger you want to learn how to make in the (Blank). I'd search for "Spawn" and "Teleport".

    If you'd like it to be a little easier to learn triggers, I'll post a map later with all the trigger stuff you'll need to learn to make it.

    well nexus destroyers was mainly just a unit spawner kind of map. basically all you did was get a bunch of Civilians (which were selectors) and moved them to a beacon that had a vareity of units. the more Civilians you had the more units you could spawn from the beacon u selected. and u get more civilians by killing the enemy units of the opposite team and earning points. you could also get hero units depending on your points which are also selcted by moving a civ to the hero beacon.

    a hero unit would be something simple like a infestor with enhanced fungal growth or a mother ship with the time warp thing. i wouldnt be editing many units stats at all if any. i know exactly how i want the map to be, its just i need to learn how to go about doing it lol.

    i know its not all that simple, but trust me i am dedicated to learning how to re create it. ill even add some of my own little twists and features the more i learn about the editor.

    well first off lets get this out of the way. i have NEVER made a map before. ive attempted to make one but the galaxy editor is just so overwhelming for a newcomer like me.

    basically all i want to do is to re make some of my favorite old school BW maps in SC2. for example these are the maps i want to re create for SC2: team Micro arena, Micro tournament, Nexus Destroyers, Hero arena, the ban game, and etc. basically seemingly simple maps. i wont be changing any of the unit stats except for hero units in Nexus destroyers and hero arena. and for those i might just use already existing heroes just to make it simpler i guess. the reason i chose these kinds of maps is because ppl seem to have either made them on SC2 but completly gave up on updating it which left them completly imbalanced like Micro tournament or just havent made them at all. so all i want to do is to remake atleast one of these maps and continue to update them till its balanced and popular. i will be completly dedicated to w/e map i make in order to make sure it becomes a popular and well balanced map.

    but like i said my main problem is how overwhelming the galaxy editor is. i have no idea where to start. i tried searching for tutorials but there are so many tutorials that i have no idea on which one i should even start with. so i joined SC2 mapsters in order to seek help because i have always wanted to make maps.

    so with that said and with the maps i mentioned i wanted to create in mind, can you guys guide me in the right diriection so i can start learning? since i obviously wont be able to make all of the maps right away i want to atleast start on just one map for now, and that will be Nexus Destroyers/Nexus Defence map. any tips/tutorials/guides you guys can give me so i can start on it right away? im very eager to recreate one of my most favorite maps from BW.

    i guess first id like to start off with the layout/terrain for the map before i get into any of the meaty parts. id like to have that done first atleast. and sorry for the grammar/spelling. im in my college libary and using there comp so i have to type this up quick.
