Might be one I'll have to try out. I can just make a long .wav file, but I'll always set it to whatever amount I want it to play. If that works, then kickass. =P
I'm trying to make a transmission where a Nova character speaks. Because playing a sound link won't allow subtitles to show, I play a sound before the trigger. Here are what the two triggers look like:
Sound - Play Nova_Yes (Unnamed) (1) for (All players) (at 100.0% volume, skip the first 0.0 seconds)
Transmission - Send transmission to (All players) from (Model Portrait - Nova) playing No Sound Link with name "Michelle" and message "6 o'clock. Time to meet up." using (Cinematic portrait at Center Left) playing Talk Serious (Eyes) (Set To 4.0 seconds, Wait until it finishes)
The portrait shows up but it doesn't talk. Yes, I'm in 3D - the 2D/3D isn't the issue. The issue is she doesn't actually talk. No mouth movement, no anything. I tried to look up the answer, but the questions about it were from months ago and nobody knew the answer, unfortunately. I'm hoping somebody figured it out because SC1 was easy - make a transmission and the mouth moves because it's a transmission trigger.
Hmm, I guess that'll have to do. So lemme pitch my first question just so I'm not confused, and I know I'll feel stupid when I hear the answer: how do I simply load the maps in the SC2 menu screen?
So I'm making a campaign right now, and soon I'll have a new level set up, so I'll be able to add a final, "Load Next Map," trigger and finish the map in question. But how do you play it? If I made a campaign, do I have to publish all the maps or is there a way to just play it on my comp and give it to others to play?
Ah, so the only way to do briefings here would probably be a cinematic, huh?
EDIT: That's still easily workable, actually, but I'm just making sure.
EDIT2: Re-reading your post, that's pretty much what you're saying. That's still cool, though - at least they give us a wide array of possibilities with the cinematic modes.
Well, I guess first off, I'm not sure how to set the next map. I see the trigger, sure, but I guess my question is how do I create the BRIEFING for the next map? I have no idea how that works. I checked out some SC2 maps, and parts of the briefing are played in the map and all that, but I'm not sure how a briefing works, how to put people in the briefing... nothing to start with at the moment.
Set Next Movie seems interesting, but how does one get started in making a movie?
That trigger DOES work. I tested out it by saying it the trigger played, a text message would appear (and it wouldn't stop appearing, so I'm gonna need to use variables to sort that out). So my problem is actually with making sure an OBJECTIVE is checked off, not in the conditions.
That didn't work either. Basically, the action is making the final objective completed. I made an objective, and now when the buildings are destroyed, the last (and only) created objective is complete. That condition posted, for whatever reason, is not triggering that action.
What current trigger do you have? Because if I tried that, my first thought would be to put both Events in the triggers since you're allowed to do that.
That's the thing: I can't see how to make that condition. All I see is stuff like Comparison and And and things like that. I'm not sure how to work those.
I've been learning a lot on this new editor, but damn, I feel like I went from map-making guy to complete n00b overnight, lol. I'm trying to create a simple victory trigger where you destroy the opponent's buildings and you win. That's basically it. But under all the events, I'm not seeing anything, and the conditions are confusing the hell out of me (And, Or, Not, etc.). Is there simply an event that's the equivalent to Player Commands 0 Units/Buildings?

That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea, lol.

When I play a sound during a transmission, the text disappears completely.

Damn! All this stuff the editor gives, and they take out the ability to let you make a campaign?!

And now I figured out how to do objectives (I used the tutorial on the site and saved my objective in the Global Data type or whatever it's called).
Great, so the triggers y'all gave me did work. Thanks SO MUCH because I was ready to run head first at my screen on this. =P

I wasn't able to get this: Number of Buildings owned by player in Entire Map == 0
I couldn't get anything close to it. The closest I got was Number of Units in Unit Group, but I couldn't get any variation of that to work.
