    Good point Kueken i am currently doing my first dev vid for my map and when it is done i will also post other ideas i have for the future. hopefully some people will like either the work i have done or the idea or both :D

    Join Team "Generic Code" and help Triflin and Spoolofwhool create an epic game of strategic and hero based warfare. The way this game works is that every player gets one Hero. There are two teams that are chosen in the Game Lobby, and nine different match ups for example TvZ, PvZ, TvP. The teams are divided into 6 vs 6. When the games starts you are prompted to choose one of ten unique classes (10 classes for each races 30 in total) and once all players are ready the game begins. One player must log-in to the "Main Command Structure" (Command Center, Orbital Command, Planetary Fortress, Hatchery, Lair, Hive, Nexus) while the others can start to help build for the "Commander" or go out to explore and engage the other enemy Hero's. As you kill units or use "Support Construction" to help build structures you will gain Experience, abilities, and more currency to purchase items. As you level up you become stronger, but so do your enemies. Their army grows larger, and their Hero's more "Mighty" so be prepared and work as a team or fall divided.

    Positions i would like filled:

    Creative Team: Everyone on the team has a voice use it (if you think something will work better your way tell us why).

    Data Editor: -Triflin, -Spoolofwhool -Empty Position -Empty Position

    Triggers: -Triflin -Spoolofwhool -Empty Position -Empty Position

    Map layout Design: -Triflin -Empty Position -Empty Position

    Model Animations -Triflin -Spoolofwhool -Empty Position -Empty Position

    Testers -Triflin -Spoolofwhool -Bilxor -BenSindle -Empty Position -Empty Position -Empty Position -Empty Position -Empty Position -Empty Position

    Web Site -Empty Position -Empty Position

    All Empty Positions do not have to be full for us to begin, because as i have said a lot of the backbone of this project is near completion.

    The map itself is just like any regular melee map where you collect resources and all that fun stuff but on each side there are heroes fighting on your team with you for complete map domination (max players 12)

    that's all i will say about the map thus far if you have any question or want to be a part of my team send me a PM and i will respond ASAP, after the PM, if you want, I will be using Skype to get into contact with you to chat and tell you more about the map idea and give you a peek at what has already been accomplished.

    I would just like to add that in the beginning of this project i was not very proficient with the data editor. now Spoolofwhool and I are very capable with the editor and work well together as a team. If you are a novice map editor (or expert) and you wish to join our team then we will help you learn so that you may help us. You must have a passion to learn about the editor. that is one thing i can not teach.

    No, but i did figured out some of it, I just took the snipe ability and changed the effect to instant and removed the actors and added my own. I feel dumb now because all i needed to do on my old ability that i made was change the target impact location: to target unit/point. I had it at caster before (which i thought i had changed) Any way what it does now, is when i use the ability it finds the target that has already been targeted by the attack command and if in range it attacks doing the set damage. But now i need to make it so it does the weapon damage and the ability damage at the same time on the target. Is this where augment comes in.

    Hey so i have been trying to see if these solutions would work for my ability but i think my problems with making this ability may have been misunderstood. The first ability still requires you to select a target and does not just attack the target that the unit is already attack and augment still requires target as well. What I'm trying to do is just have a unit use an ability that will attack the units target without having to target them just hit the button and it will attack the units target. Thanks in advance.

    Hey so here is the deal i have a hero that will use a psi strike ability sort of like wow's sinister strike. I have made it with Effect: Instant - Combat: damage dealing 20 dmg. Reason for Effect: instant, is i just want the unit to use this ability on the unit he is already attacking not having to click or include search area. Is this possible in data or do i need to use triggers. Please help as i am new to data editor but learning fast just stumped on this. P.S. most of my abilities my heroes will use will be like this one if i can get it to work.

    Hey I'm new to 3ds max and i have been looking everywhere to solve a simple problem i am stripping a marine of his gun, to make a model of it, to use as a pickup item in game. When i go to export the gun back into the game it says no meshes found. I have looked everywhere for help but there is nothing to be found on this matter so my guess is that this is such an easy task that no one bothered to ask about it, well ill be that person. Some one help me solve this issue.

    hey man thanks for the quick response but i still can't get it going the problem is i cant use a variable to determine "My Marine" well i can but i mean i can't use a variable on that last part of the event. Unless I'm just a huge noob which is probably the case.

    so here is the deal I'm just trying to make it so that when i bring my marine near any command center the player will have a button displayed on there screen saying enter command but the enter/leave unit range trigger will not allow me to find a unit that has not been pre-set. For example the map starts nothing is placed on the map (no units) after all options have been chosen units spawn, now there is a unit you control and a command center for a computer player you are allied to. Now what i want to do is simply just walk near the command center the button pops up and you click enter sounds easy right well, its not lol. the unit you play as is determined with a variable and works great, but the command center part is where i have trouble with i can't even use variables so there is no way for me to specify the unit. If you know how to do this or have any work around please let me know.
