Does anyone know of a way to test if the newly acquired item is an item of a certain category under the conditions option? I can't seem to find the comparison for item category/Classes.

    Any help is much appreciated,

posted a message on Stargate Galaxies - Recruiting! - UPDATES!
Trigger Artists We are looking for some skilled trigger artists as well. with me and one additional trigger artist we definitly need more guys that are able to create and copy serval trigger stuff like character saving into the planet-maps, create misions and quest conservations and all the RPG stuff you can imagine. Data Editors the highest priority in our team has this "job" because we do not have one data editor atm. you should be able to create heroes, morphing stuff, upgrades, abilities and help to balance the game out. i know al ittle bit of data editing, so i would help where i can, but im not an expert so we need some people that know what theire doing!
I can do both of these, tho I am better at Data Editing... I am still working on the abilities editing which are a bit more difficult then the Unit/Item editing. I also know some of the lore and background of SG1/SGU, just not so much of the specifics. The only thing that makes me worried is that you care so little to use proper spelling/capitalization... makes it seem like you will ditch the project after I invest my time because you are not really that invested in it... Tho, if you would like my help, You can send me a PM and I will tell you want I need to start my process. I will only work if I am given some specific details such as item names, characteristics (Is is a weapon? What kind of weapon? Is is a race? What kind of weapons do they use? etc.) specific to SG/SG1/SGU/SGG universes.

You can send it to me if you like and I can take a look at it... I'm still getting used to the SC2 editor but I used the SC1 and war3 editors a ton.

You can send it to: [email protected]

posted a message on [Trigger/Data] Item Gain = New Ability

I was hoping I didn't have to do that =/ Its kinda lame you can't add a skill to the command card with a trigger... and it wouldn't be that hard to do if they did allow it.

    Thanks for the response

posted a message on [Trigger/Data] Item Gain = New Ability

I saw the other threads but no one has post a solution... also don't like necroing

Looking for some help to do something like this either with a trigger or using an item ability

I want it so when my hero gets say "Gun" he gains the Ghost Sniper ability too. (also dropping the gun would remove this ability)

I tried this with an item, but cant seem to get it to work when the item goes into the inventory, the Ability which is attached to the item doesn't appear on the skill bar... I assume due to something I lack in knowing the new editor =/

Or for a trigger something like:

Events: Unit - Any Unit Gains Any Item

Condition: (Unit type of (Triggering unit)) == Ranger Skill

Actions: Unit - Add 4 Ghost - Cloak to (Triggering unit) from (Triggering inventory item)

    Any help is welcome, thanks!~

posted a message on How can you swap weapon models like the campaing

I think the guns are attached to the models... so you will have to wait till a 3d Maxer butchers them off and makes them for us all =/

For anyone having any issues with this tutorial (Such as a black/white blob appearing instead of the Marine) and you're using Windows 7/Vista

Choose to Run as Administrator when you start the program. I did that, and solved 30 minutes of headache.

    and this tutorial, saves lives

been banging my head against a wall trying to get it to work, this is quicker than biffus' way and running as an admin makes sense with those bloody circles on the editor :)

Biffus' way is dated with the new system, it works but they renamed a few things so they are harder to find... I'll post a Unit creation guide later for the retail editor

This tutorial has worked well for me, with one exception - and hopefully it's acceptable for me to post the question here.

My goal is to 'specialize' Terran from the start with things like modified command centers. Such as starting with a modified Orbital Command or Fortress. This tutorial works, but when I go to place the new Fortress or OC it shows up as a regular Command Center.

Unfortunately this editor is much more complicated than the SC1 or WC3 editor, so I assume I am overlooking something simple.

You aren't changing the model of the unit. You need to go under the models and choose the one the new fortress unit is using... the new editor is much more complicated. You also need to change other models for death and such maybe.

    Quote from elizabethlestrad: Go

Hmm easy enough tutorial to follow, but the editor that comes with the retail version does not have many of the options that yours has. For example when I have to choose model type the editor does not have a CModel option, only Foliage and General.

I also noticed that when creating units you cant select, view, or change unit portraits so you might want to add a section on that.

Finally, apparantly the editor also does not list many of the models in the model list. For example, I cannot find Tosch or Nova's model in the model lists.

I'll post a retail guide (video or pictures? which do you guys prefer?) on creating units after work today...

You can change the portrait but its linked to a model or another class like that... I'm not 100% what one because I'm not at my gaming PC. You CAN change it, just not under the unit editor part... you should see whats linked to it that does the portrait tho. I'll post how later

Just a little thing, some images don't seem to load properly for me. Maybe you can add the images as attachments to the post so they get loaded from sc2mapster.com instead of imageshack or photobucket etc?

    Would a video help?
