hmm this is semi related, but i can't seem to get mine to work. I'm obviously new to this and i tried running the script and all that but i can't seem to import m3 files. What am i missing here? I'm sure it's something really simple that i've been unabled to notice due to my noobishness.
you should try rebumping some hours later. Maybe everyone's asleep or at work right now? Though i don't really know where the majority of SC2mapster ppl live.
lol yeah, but sounds a bit difficult. Atm i'm just trying give SC2 Story Mode models some animations but i can't get the 3ds max to import the m3 files. Probably some silly mistake on my part but i've been at this for 2 hrs and i still have yet to even load the model. I'm using (at least trying to) that m3 import/export plugin for 3ds max that's on this website. (http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/m3-export-plugin-3ds-max/)
So i'm pretty new to galaxy editor (made a few maps on sc1 and even less on wc3) and i barely got 3ds max trial just for the heck of it, and i was wondering how i could add basic animations to the high poly SM dominion marine model? If someone has already done this, that would be freaking awesome, because i honestly don't think i'll be able to add animations to anything.
I also realize that the high poly model will prolly be laggy, but i'm only gonna use like 3 or 4 and i'm making a single player tps that imma prolly play myself.
Apologies if this has been asked already, in the wrong section, or is a stupid question.
What about this:
There is the human team which consists of generic heroes that use spells and items and stuff and tries to survive a zombie or zerg attack. They have to fortify a spot and fight off a swarm at night and look for supplies in daylight.
Then theres one or two players who play as the zombie/zerg team that loosely controls all the units (like you choose a location and they just swarm) and try to kill the human team but are weakened in daylight and only some units can walk around in the sun. Also, the zombie/zerg players can take control of one of their units which strengthens the said unit and provides direct control over it allowing you to use its spells and move it around to set up ambushes or something.
i was wondering, is it possible to like, export say one of the Dominion Marine models, give him some animations on like some 3d modeling program, import him back into Sc2, and make like a FPS with a high QL marine with actual shooting/walking animations?
Well, i think the way he's taking offense to the question it's safe to assume he didn't lock his map.
On another note, how come every time one gets mad at another the latter becomes an American? It's like whenever you do something bad or something, people immediately assume you're American. American is the new bad word! Illegal immigrants should just piss everyone off instead of trying to cross the border.
But hey, least this thread is on the front page now. Some people will be able to spread the news and stuff on Bnet, although i don't think people care too much about who made the maps.

what do u want the AI to do? Just attack the player? I'm pretty sure you need triggers to have the AI move and stuff.

Imma spoil your fun and tell him anyways. You gotta go to the map dependencies on the Galaxy Editor and add stuff until you something.
