I made an Effect - Target ability, but I'm stumped. When I try to use it, it says 'Must target unit'. Which is fine, except it's not actually allowing me to target anything. I'm surely doing something wrong, but I don't know what.
I was attempting to make a teleport ability that has the caster pick a unit, and cause that unit to teleport to the caster's location. It's an Effect - Target type, with the linked ability as Teleport. But I'm not entirely sure how to adjust the targets to make this work, and furthermore, whenever I try to use it in a test, I get a 'Must target unit' error despite it not actually giving me a targeting cursor.
I'm trying to make a behavior that reduces incoming damage, like Hardened Shield. Based on HS in the editor, I suspect the right field is Damage Response +, but I can't really tell. The editor isn't letting me scroll through the entire window; it stops after Time Start, and I can see there's a Time Stop field as well, but I can't scroll any farther. The same is true for the Damage Response field of my new ability. So I can't get to whatever part actually modifies the damage.
Is this fixable? Or is it a bug that I should be reporting?
It's not a bug. Several of the tutorials are simply wrong.
Go into the Actors. Find the Marine Copy actor you made. Change the unitName to your Marine Copy, if it isn't already. Change the Art - Model, Art - Portrait, and all similar fields to the proper Marine fields (and not Marine Copy).
In the future, I would suggest duplicating the Actor separately, and not checking them when duplicating the unit.
Hmm. Doesn't that mean that if you called Open Gate on an open gate, it'd close it? You don't even need a duplicate ability if what you're describing is true.
But I don't want the Colossus's attack, I want the Immortal's. However, pulling an attack animation sounds like what I want to do. But I'm not sure how.
Yeah, I changed all the models with the 'X Copy' stuff that I could find.
The first and second picture are the parts of the Events+ field on the unit's (named Raizsh) actor that have to do with attacks. The third is the Events+ field on the Raizsh Attack field.

Perfect, thanks for the help.

Yeah, I learned that just a while ago myself. I'm still not actually able to target anything for some reason, though.

Well, I did have the English version. The Table view thing works. Okay, thanks.

I'm curious. Are players able to establish alliances themselves through the game? Or would I have to establish some UI for that?

They look like lasers. Pew pew!
_>.
But I don't mean that it fires lasers like the Colossus. I imagine the Immortal is firing missiles, and the missiles just look like tiny laser shots.

What, really?
Is there a way around this, then? All I want to do is fire teh lazer gun.

Yeah, the impact of the weapons still displays.

But I saw it just a moment after I answered your question.
Pick Comparison, naturally. Double-click on the first field.
Search for 'Region'. It's there, I'm sure.
