posted a message on Looking For A Terrainer + Data Editor + Trigger Editor (Mini Development Team)

I would also like to apply for coding/terraining, if you need any other help with it. I believe you've already seen my application here

Feel free to PM me with any questions or anything as well

posted a message on Scripter looking for a team to join

Exactly what it says on the title

    • Experience: I have experience in Galaxy, though I am not an expert. I'm learning C+ + and did a lot of JASS and vJASS coding back in Warcraft 3
    • Why? I'm hoping to join a team in order to gain more experience, because it would allow me to focus more on coding than if I make my own map. Though right now I'm only using Galaxy, I am planning to learn Andromeda as well in the future.
    • Additional Skills: I also have some experience in Data, though it is very limited. I've also worked on Terrain, you can find my work I submitted for a WTE here

That can't be real. Did you really take a screenshot and actually hide the units like that? From the second one it seems like they would be showing. That is just epic on so many levels.

Yup. If you look very close in the original you can see the top of the colossus and a little bit of blue from the zealots that are on the path. The main difference between them is the camera angle, the first one is more head on so the rocks and cliffs hide the units, while the second is more of a birds eye view

@Inferno002: I agree with Mozared that the rock spires could be a little more obvious, but that's still pretty kickass

posted a message on Steppes of War style cliffs?

Whoops, I didn't have the editor in front of me when I said that. You actually want to go to Terrain Cliff Meshes, and the first field will be Cliff Heights.

If you go into Terrain Cliffs in the data editor, you can change the height fields for different cliff types

@Eltonbrand - I believe I have what you want using custom movers and a few Site Operation actors, but until I get my Retail SC2 patcher working I can't make a test map to confirm. When I work out my issue, I'll throw up a map so you can see if it's what you had in mind :)

@ProzaicMuze - That would be great if you could upload an example map :)

posted a message on What to change in the Galaxy Editor

An auto-fill feature for all numeric fields (as in WC3's NewGen Editor)

Ex: You can ctrl click on a field, such as veterancy levels. You tell it you want 25 levels, starting at 200 xp, and increasing by 100 xp per level, and it creates all 25 levels for you

Also, more terrain levels. Just because we can work without them, why should we have to?

Ideally both, I want an actor be rotating in place while orbiting another actor. I believe getting the actor to rotate is done through turrets, but it looks like they can only be added to units, not actors

I'm not entirely sure if this is related to this tutorial or not, but figured it couldn't hurt to post. I was wondering how to create revolving actors, like the WC3 Sphere ability. Would this be done through hosting and site ops?

posted a message on Creating Revolving Actors?

Is it possible to make one actor revolve around another using only the data editor? Would it be done by creating a missle and using movers, or site ops, or something else entirely?

I just also wanted to say excellent job, it's a very helpful tutorial.

I just hope blizz fixes the variance rotation by launch, it's very frustrating to the point of being useless trying to attach anything using it
