posted a message on StarCraft II Inappropriate Content Policies

Mozared, with all due respect I believe you are atleast slightly bending all information toward your decided opinion... Just like everyone else here, me too.

The posts in this topic seem to have been used to express people's problems with Blizzard as of late rather than the policies at the top, of course, and I tend to agree. As I see it it's the partnership between Activision and Blizzard that's to blame, but is probably not the case. I guess by blaming Blizzard for casualising WoW and whatnot people are trying to identify their recent problems with the game. I myself have not PuG'ed ICC25 etc. and I probably won't seeing as I'm not actively playing anymore but I don't think that encounters are easier, just filling the requirements for trying them is ~ and that's probably a good thing...

Yet, WoW somehow really lost it's charm and I am unable to identify what's causing this and I feel I have to burst out at every other change Blizzard has made to WoW the past 2 years or so.

Well anyway, as I see it this, the SC2 mapmaking community, is facing more and more problems, and as stated it's a less and less hospitable environment. And Blizzard seem to be enforcing their policies, instead of just using them for legal purposes, as we have witnessed already after 1 week post release. I'd love if they just posted "We do not take any responsibility whatsoever for user created content, go sue someone else" in there instead. Also, I think it's obvious that the custom map/popularity system they have on bnet is utter shit. There is no search function, no index, no genres or tags - only 'This map is popular, play it', effectively mainstreaming maps that are made first. I don't understand what they were thinking, and designing it after XBOX Live? W T F?!?! Atleast that's how I interpret hiring the designers of it. It's not really simplistic, it's just stupid because of all the limitations. I'm quite upset with how custom content is treated in SC2, atleast melee works Great. Hosting is laggy, maps are plagued with input lag and so on, maps are still limited to a very small amount of disk space.

I think it's totally understandable to neglect local hosting because of the obvious piracy problems, but it causes alot of problems they will have to fix with their yet very limited bnet client. I fail to believe they will seriously try to fix this, they are comercially successful with all their crap already, and I agree with that Blizzard is losing contact with the community and the only <big> game company I still believe in is Valve. I expect my trust will falter soon enough though.

I may have forgot some things, but please put what's here in consideration before bashing me.
